2005 National Championship Tournament
Where has the time gone? It has been 3 years since winning Nationals. NW Wildfire just accomplished the same feat you did. Congrats to them girls!

Coeur d'Alene Crush 18-U wins Nationals
Congratulations ladies on winning the ASA 18-U "B" Western National Championship. Through all the highs and lows of this season, losing Jordan to an injury and then losing Heather with her injury, picking up a new third base player and a new 1st base player and having an extra pitcher to help out in those duties, you all did it!
You beat five different teams from California and that very good Pocatello team on your way. Those two extra inning games really brought everyones heartbeat a racing. In the championship game against the Thermal Sliders and having them get ahead 2-0 in the first inning, our crowd was taken out of the game, but your great plays and timely hitting brought us back to tie it at 2 in the third and go ahead 5-2 after some wonderful hits in the fifth.
Wouldn't you know it, Thermal would come up with a clutch 2 out triple to tie the game at 5 in the 5th. You all kept your composure and after not scoring in the top of the 8th with the Kansas City Tiebreaker in effect you shut them down with great plays in the bottom of the 8th and stole the show in the 9th when your speed produced 3 runs to make it almost impossible for them to recover and when the last pitch was hit to Jessyca and she fielded it clean and smiled before she threw it to Jenna for the final out, we all cheered and cried for you.
Many of you have played softball for Crush for many years and look what you have achieved. With the help from your family and friends, you have done something that very few teams ever get to do. So enjoy it and remember that it is only a game and you have to now present yourselves as National Champions... so when that little girl comes up to you and says she likes softball too, talk to her and show her a skill that you have learned that made you what you are today... I remember when our kids talked to Patti and how great she was with you all, so pass on the torch to the younger girls coming up that want to be like you.
