Program Description (7th-8th grade):
The goals of the program are to develop our players through practice and games. Each team will play 13 games per season, and will practice 1 or 2 times per week. Games and practices will be held at either CD Middle or CD East Middle Schools. The boys will play on Saturday, girls (see description under high school). Each team will also play three times during the season either Tues, Wed, or Thurs. Schedules will be released after teams are picked.
All games will be officiated by PIAA referees. We want to remind all parents and spectators that this is a recreational league. Please keep comments POSITIVE at all times. These players need our encouragement and cheers.
Playoffs begin on March 1st. All teams make the playoffs. Each team is seeded based on their record during the regular season. Trophies will be given out to each player on the Championship and 2nd place teams of the playoffs.
A pizza party concludes the season in March. This is a fun way to wrap up the season. There is also a brief Membership meeting at this time. Elections for the next year's Board will occur at that time, as well.
General Information:
We will expect parent participation in practices to assist the coach in developing each team. Please volunteer to help. We do understand that there are some parents that will be unable to help, but perhaps you could help by keeping score, etc.
Please keep in contact with your child’s coach and let him/her know if your child will miss a practice. Our goal is effective communication between parents and coaches to better serve our children.
If you bring siblings of players to the practice, please know that you are expected to keep these children within your arms reach AT ALL TIMES.
Any damage that your child does to the school, YOU will be responsible for restitution.
We are looking forward to a fun and rewarding basketball experience with your children. Thank you for choosing CDABA and if you have any questions or concerns, please contact any member of the Executive Board.
