SENIOR DIVISION

CCLL provides a Senior Division for all players age 14-16. The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 14-16-year-olds from within this division (and/or from within the Junior League or Big League divisions), and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Senior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League Baseball.

Mandatory Backround Checks For all League Volunteers

Recognizing the need to protect or greatest assets and treasure- our children, The City of Coconut Creek and Little League Baseball began requiring Background checks for all League Managers, Coaches, Team Moms, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams.

This Policy took effect beginning with the 2003 Season. All persons interested in becoming volunteers must consent to a national background check using the Volunteer & Employee Criminal History System (V.E.C.H.S.) Applicants must submit a signed statement and consent form along with their fingerprints. This data will be submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), for the purpose of accessing and reviewing Florida and National criminal history records that pertain to the applicant.

Weather Watch: Call Baseball Info Line for Field Status

Lightening.gif
With the Rainy season upon us, and our strange Florida weather patterns leaving half the city dry and the other drenched, there is many instances when you don't know whether your game is on or not. For the definitive answer on whether fields are available and games will be played during inclement weather, please call:

Baseball information Line at (954) 418-7984

The Information line will be updated daily at 5:30 PM with that days field availibility or closure. Please do not call the City directly, assume games will be played unless you hear differently.

Challenger Division

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 5-18 or the completion of high school, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.

Teams are set up according to abilities, rather than age, and can include as many as 15-20 players, who can participate in one of three levels: Tee-Ball, Coach-Pitch or Player Pitch.

Each player gets a chance at bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through the roster, or when a pre-determined number of runs has been scored, or when three outs are recorded. Little League recommends that no score be kept during games. The Challenger players wear the same uniforms, shoulder patches and safety equipment as other Little League players.

The registration fee for the Challenger Division is $16.00 per team (same as for all other divisions of Little League). Accident insurance is set at the same low cost as other Little League divisions and is available through Little League Headquarters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

One of the benefits of having a Challenger Division is that it encourages the use of "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. However, the buddy is always nearby to help when needed.

In Memoriam: Paul Mosher- Umpire Chief

This site is dedicated to the memory of Paul Mosher- Umpire Chief from 1999-2000. The League has also adopted it's new Zero-Tolerance Policy in his Honor. Paul was a champion of this new policy which calls for the immediate dismissal from the playing field of any Coach, Player or Fan who uses profane or inapropriate language or verbally or physically abuses an umpire.
