CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Welcome
The Concerned Citizens for Youth Development and it's Charleston Sharks Basketball Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization that has actively provided AAU winter and summer basketball programs for children in Charleston for eight years. The purposes and functions of the program will be the self-improvement of our young people, to help them in achieving basic life skills (discipline, insight, leadership, teamwork, self-esteem, character building, knowledge of self, etc.) through academics and athletics. BEHAVIOR SHAPING SYSTEMS: It is the subject of religion, psychology, sociology, philosophy, education. Upon the shaping of our behavior depends the proper framing of systems of family, government and economic, which in turn determines our personal and social harmony and prosperity. We know that the proper framing of these systems depends on the correct view of our nature. Our shaping behavior systems will take our young people from one stage in growth to another through basketball, our children will have an accurate and clear view of the beginning and end stages. Example, when someone set out on a journey one must know where he/she started from, and where she/he are going. We see that the dominant behavior shaping systems are like wood drifting in the sea because they know only of their present location. "Knowing nothing of Man's /Woman's orgin and where they must take man/woman in his/her growth, they erect very sophisticated ignorant theories and practices that take his/her lower stage of growth as the essence of her/his being". We know of people who have developed a profound insight into our psychological (spiritual) evolution, the result of which symbolized as truth. Unlike other behavior shaping systems which are based on our lower being with its animalistic, and lower intellectual faculties we based our behavior shaping system on the higher parts of our being wherein reside the divine elements that created us and administer to our life. The present systems foster all kinds of behavior that cater to and strengthen the lower part of being (animal part of being within us), Our purposes and functions behavior shaping systems seek to elevate our young people to their divine essence. We know that the master key to personal and social health, wealth, wisdom, harmony, and prosperity-true salvation in this life reside in a way of life in which every individual strove to awaken and develop the higher, godlike part of being-the self Self. Our young people will be taught to identify, the higher part of being, they will clearly know at all times that all emotion and pleasure motivated behavior is not expressions of their true self. The function of the program will be to work toward the elimination of and to give our young people the necessary tools to combat injustices; To help raise the academic achievements level of all students and to place particular emphasis on learning which build's positive and realistic self-concepts among the participants; To meet and share ideas, proven programs, and guaranteed techniques for demonstrating that our youth can achieve irrespective of socioeconomic conditions; Provide an awareness and appreciation of their racial and cultural heritage; The ability to distinguish who is their friend and who is their enemy; How to establish goals which are supportive and consistent with the needs of their community; An understanding of social class and racial division; An understanding of their roles as the future leaders for their communities; And an appreciation of the humanness of all people.Shining Star by Earth Wind and Fire
