The City of Brotherly Love Softball League is a gay slow pitch softball league serving the Philadelphia metropolitan area. CBLSL is a member of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) and the Amateur Sports Alliance of North America (ASANA) The league is presently made up of six divisions: "B" competitive, "C" competitive, "D" recreational, Women's "A" competitive, Women's "B" intermediate, and Women's "C" recreational. Games are played every Sunday starting April 19th. The fields are located in Fairmont Park at the Dairy Fields, just off Kelly Drive in Philadelphia. This site will feature weekly updates of all division team standings, game schedules and much more. CBLSL serves two purposes: to promote, develop and operate a competitive, community based softball league for the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender community in metropolitan Philadelphia; and to support community nonprofit groups that support the gay community in Philadelphia. All of the organizations officers are volunteers. The word “charitable”, as used in Section 501(c)(3), has been broadly defined to mean “providing services beneficial to the public interest”. The activities of CBLSL clearly benefit the public interest. Promoting amateur athletics is beneficial to the health and well being of the general public. Additionally, CBLSL will donate non-operating capital back into local nonprofit groups that support the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender community.
