CBA ICE HOCKEY plays its home games at the Albany County Hockey Facility a/k/a USA Rink.


CBA ICE HOCKEY is sponsored by Christian Brothers Academy of Colonie, NY. Mr. James Schlegel is the principal of the grade 6-12 all male school. Mr. Richard Scully is the Athletic Director for CBA.

Saratoga Catholic bowlers, CBA hockey team excel in classroom

   The Saratoga Central Catholic boys’ bowling team and the Christian Brothers Academy ice hockey team are state champions.
   Both teams registered the highest marks, while Shaker and Guilderland both had a runner-up group, in the winter portion of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association-sponsored Scholar/ Athlete Team Award program.
   Awards are presented to teams that have a combined classroom average of 90 or better during their respective seasons. In all, 10 teams from Section II earned top-10 placements, with two representing Saratoga Catholic, CBA and Colonie.
   The Saratoga Catholic bowling team had a 97.497 classroom average, and the CBA ice hockey team had a 96.558 average. Shaker’s boys’ indoor track team was second with a 97.599, as was Guilderland’s girls’ skiing team with a 96.811. CBA’s indoor track team was third with a 97.127 mark.
   Saratoga Catholic’s boys’ basketball team (95.409) and Shenendehowa’s girls’ skiing team (95.609) both placed sixth in the state. Colonie’s girls’ indoor track team (96.969) and Fonda-Fultonville’s boys’ indoor track team (96.442) both placed ninth, and Colonie’s boys’ bowling team was 10th (93.800).
   Section II had 206 teams and 2,114 students participate in the
program this winter.

 

 Ice hockey — CBA, 96.55 (state champion); Shaker/Colonie, 93.81; Bethlehem 93.62; Glens Falls, 92.86; South Glens Falls 92.73; Saratoga Springs, 91.56; Shenendehowa, 91.41; Guilderland, 90.96; Niskayuna/ Schenectady, 90.28; Queensbury, 90.02.
