Catskill Little League Volunteer Policy and Application ProcedureA volunteer as stated in the Little League Official Regulations and Playing Rules is a person who provides regular service to the league and or has repetitive access to, or contact with players or teams.
All Board members, managers and coaches, as a condition of service are required to be approved volunteers. In addition all Committee members, team parents and persons deemed by the Board of Directors to have repetitive access or contact with players or a team, or provide a regular service to Catskill Little League must be an approved volunteer. All approved volunteers will be considered regular members of Catskill Little League.
Volunteer applications are available at all Catskill Little League registration locations, our website, www.catskillbaseball.org or upon request from any board member. Volunteer applications can be submitted in person at a registration location, given to a current Board member or mailed to Catskill Little League, PO Box 808, Catskill, NY. All applications must be submitted prior to May 1, 2009.
All volunteer applications must be verified with photo identification. All mailed volunteer applications must include a photocopied photo identification, i.e., drivers license.
All volunteer applications not completed in full will be returned to the applicant for appropriate action.
All volunteer applications will be reviewed for approval by a designated Board member and the President in accordance with Little League rules and regulations. All applicants will be notified via U.S. mail of approval or disapproval of application. A list of all approved volunteers will be maintained by the Secretary of the Board of Directors.
All approved volunteers will be considered Regular Members of Catskill Little League and will therefore be entitled to make motions and vote at membership meetings as defined in Article(s) III and V of our Little League Constitution.
Regular membership (approved volunteers) status may be subject to review and termination by the Board of Directors for any conduct which is not in the best interest of Little League or for the lack of participation of any person as an approved volunteer.
It is the intent of Catskill Little League to provide a clear volunteer policy and application procedure to all who desire to become involved in Little League. This policy will assist Catskill Little League in providing a safe environment for our participating children and insure the people who volunteer their time and effort toward the success of our league have a voice as a regular member in the future of Catskill Little League.
