Catonsville Cobras 99: Welcome

Welcome to the home page for the Catonsville Cobras 99 Boys Travel Soccer team.  Boys participating on this squad have birthdates from 8/1/99-7/31/00.  Please take the time to view our site. This site will be maintained and updated regularly to provide you the most current information available on our team and cancellations. 

Try-outs for the 2013-2014 season are as follows:

May 5, 19 and June 2 7:00-8:30 pm at Steffan field.  All potential players must attend a minimum of 2 of the try out dates.  Additional try out dates MAY be added, if needed.

Our team will be participating in the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League (BBSL) this fall which holds games in the Baltimore area from September through mid-November.  There are 4 home games and 4 away games. We will also typically play in a minimum of two tournaments.  These could be local or out of state.

This is NOT a "Win at all cost" team. Our objective is based on progress throughout the season and is focused on player development. We, the coaching staff, believe in a phased approach to the long-term development of our team and want to expose your son to a higher level of play. Our overall goal is developing his fundamental soccer skills and instilling good sportsmanship, all while having fun and building friendships with teammates. We will always encourage and support our teammates on and off the field. We will respect the game of soccer and its officials and we will ALWAYS expect good sportsmanship from our coaches, players, and spectators. The Cobras 99 hold tryouts in the May and June with a minimum of three posted dates. After the team has been picked, we typically have one practice per week in July and two per week in August (typically lasting approximately 1 1/2 hour each leading up to our first game in September. We then ask for a time commitment of two, 1.5-hour practice sessions per week and one weekend game in the fall.  There is also a financial commitment ($175 - $250) to cover uniforms ($60.00), equipment, referee and league fees that are required.
