KEEP THE HEAT ON
CAN YOU HELP FELLOW RHODE ISLANDERS TO KEEP WARM THIS WINTER? Join us in our efforts with the "Keep The Heat ON" Challenge 2006! The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence will again host this program that provides heating assistance for those struggling families who have exhausted all other public and private means to keep their families warm during the frigid Rhode Island winter. The "Keep The Heat On" Fund is supported by the generosity of those living in the local community and is matched-dollar for dollar- up to $75,000 per year by the Diocese. Did you know, last year, over 500 generous donors contributed $110,736.38 to the fund? Combined with the matching diocesan grant, a total of $185,736.38 was made available to assist needy Rhode Islanders with their dire heating needs last winter. This year, the "Keep The Heat On" Fund will continue to assist Rhode Islanders in covering their heating costs or to avoid termination of their untility service.
