  Honorary Lightning

Nominate an honorary Lightning!
The Lightning like to recognize all of the people that help them bring their best effort to every game and practice. Everyone listed below has helped at least one Lightning player (or more) by supporting them, challenging them, or helping them train to be better.

To nominate an honorary Lightning, please e-mail the webmaster.

Alex Long
Alex Long played with Lightning as goalkeeper during Fall 2002 and Spring/Fall 2003 regular seasons. His skill and talent at this position was obvious to everyone who watched the Lightning play. CASL coaches asked Alex to move up to the classic level at the end of the Spring 2003 season, and again after the Fall 2003, after a record Lightning season, with Alex allowing only 6 opponent goals in ten games. Alex was awarded the Coaches MVP award at the Greensboro Challenge Clash Tournament in Novemebr 2002, and served as Team captain during the Fall 2003 season. We know that Alex will continue to excel, due to his focused work ethic at practice and games. Without a doubt, we will be watching Alex on TV someday soon. We also say goodbye to Alex's parents, Tommy and Gina, who continue to support the Lightning team, just as they did while Alex played for us. Alex's contributions to the team, not just on the field, but in his faultless leadership, have led the coaches to retire his #5 jersey. We will miss you Alex, and wish you continued success in your soccer endeavors.

Ryan Hanson
Ryan played for the CASL Lighting for the Fall 2002 and Spring 2003 seasons. He was primarily a goalkeeper, but was also known for his great field moves when he could get out on the field. In the summer of 2003, Ryan was chosen to play at the Classic level for CASL Premier and we wish him good luck on that team and his future soccer career.

Jordan Rouse
Jordan Rouse is a member of the '91 CASL Elite (the best team in North Carolina in his age group). He played recreational soccer with Michael S., Jimmy, and Rick before being selected for YTS and goes to school with Ryan, Michael C., Andrew, & Chris. Jordan also joined us for our pickup games at the beginning of the fall season and showed us a thing or two. He is one best players in the Raleigh area and we are very lucky to know him and wish him success on the Elite team.
