NCYSA Spring 2013 Schedule
After much back and forth with the teams in our region as well as with Bob's other Manager, we have a confirmed Spring 2013 NCYSA Schedule. The issue was - that between his U16 regular schedule (all over NC), our tournaments, Bob's U16 tournament (in Virginia) as well as the Kepner President's Cup - we had very little availability and had to take what we could get.
Friday, February 8th - 8:15P - v Premier Black 99 @ Centex A (Home)
Saturday, March 2nd - 4:45P v EWSA Hammers @ EWSA (Away)
Sunday, March 3rd - 11:00A v SCS Clinton United @ Dental Care Center (Home)
Sunday, March 17th - 1:00P v OCSA Coastal Crew 99 @ OCSA (Away)
Saturday, March 23rd - 2:00P v SSL Sounders @ Great Outdoor Provision (Home)
Sunday, March 24th - 1:00P v PGSA Stars 99 @ PGSA (Away)
Sunday, April 7th - 3:00P v DSC Legend 99 @ Great Outdoor Provision (Home)
Sunday, April 14th - 1:00P v ACS Elite @ ACS (Southern Pines) (Away)
Now, before you email me in anger - I know that there are conflicts with ODP and other activities and can only say - again - I tried to my best to avoid. I apologize in advance for any problems. I'll update the website next week with all the NCYSA games along with the tournaments - including the Kepner President's Cup.

CASL Shootout: Parent Information Overloard
(or - everything you never wanted to know and can't believe someone knows.....)
Greetings from the skies over the Midwest.
As everyone I believe is aware, I am a huge University of Georgia football fan. And for the past few years, a guy has produced - each week - something he calls the "Information Overload" for that week's upcoming game. It is 7-8 pages of stuff about our opponent, their schemes and really anything you could imagine. Given this is our big tournament for the season, I thought I'd try to do a smaller version of the the same here.
This weekend will provide a wonderful opportunity to see Bob's coaching and the boys hard work payoff against top teams from the Mid-Atlantic. How "top" are the teams - take a look below:
U12 Predator (all teams are nationally ranked between #134-249)
CASL Elite (NC) - #6 in NC #176 in US
GUSA Red (NC) - #12 in NC #249 in US
Virginia Rush Academy Black (VA) - #12 in VA #242 in US
SAC United Premier Blue (MD) - #3 in MD #156 in US
Freestate Titans Red (MD) - #7 in NC - #225 in US
NMSC Red (NC) - #9 in NC #196 in US
Beach FC 00B Red (VA) - #7 in VA #131 in US
GISA United U12 Boys Gold (GA) - #9 in GA #200 in US
* I think the point here is that we've asked for better competition for the boys and we are getting it - and then some
Be at every game one hour prior as not only will the boys need to warm up - but traffic will be brutal at Cedar Fork.
Also - Bob will miss the afternoon game on Saturday as his Premier Ladies will be playing in the semi-finals of the State Cup. He is working with John Bradford on a replacement. That said, if they win, then he will miss the game on Sunday as well. I will alert everyone as I know.
We are the home team for two of the games so let's go with the Black Jersey/White Shorts/White Socks combination for Saturday (but as always - bring both and warm up in training shirt)
I'd love to see that whoever is able - to go out to eat after the 1:00P game on Saturday. Brandy Morton has been gracious enough to find some places in the area and we can just make a call after the game.
Saturday, November 10th @ 8:30A
Cedar Fork #8
Virginia Rush Academy Black
#12 in VA and #242 in US
Notes: We played this team last year at the CASL Shootout and tied them 1-1. They just played Premier White 00 in the Columbus Day Tournament and beat them 5-1, but didn't qualify for the finals.
Saturday, November 10th @ 1:00P
Cedar Fork #8
Greensboro United Red #12 in NC and #249 in US
Notes: This team is very good and won the tough U12 Open Piedmont division by going 7-1-1. They also won the NC Columbus Day Classic here in NC against some good teams.
Sunday, November 11th @ 9:45A
Cedar Fork #7
SAC United Premier Blue #3 in MD and #156 in US
Notes: This team played in the Finals of the CASL Shootout U11 Predator last year and beat the then Elite White 6-2. Right on their home page it shows them winning another tournament on Columbus Day as well as a tournament in Fredericksburg, VA in August.
Us: Let me remind you about our boys (and how they deserve the chance to compete here):
Our overall record is 13-1-2 in official match/tournament competition and have a goal differential of 87-20.
We were 5-1-1 in tournaments including one as a U13 team.
This team has come from behind two times to win in the second half and once to tie.
Here are some of the statistical leaders (in all competitions):
Goals: Jake Schneider (14), Owen & Matthew Sloan (13), Jake Steinberg (11), Andrew (10), Farouk (9), Dylan (6), Brady (4), Brandon & Tal (2) and Turner (1)
GK: Innis has recorded five (5) shutouts and that is also in large part to our defensive stalwarts: Matthew Bulmer, Brady, Turner and Brandon
To sum it up: it should be a great weekend and a great way to finish off the season.

Notes & Info (June 27)
Good morning everyone. A few notes for you before we head off to the 4th of July week and a nice break for everyone before the start of team camp.
1. Fair Play: Bob is still waiting for final approval from John Bradford (who is with the Academy teams at their National Tournament), but expects that we will be approved to play in the CASL Fair Play on September 1-2 as an 11v11 team. There is always a small chance it could change, but he feels confident that his plan will be approved so please pencil in that weekend on your calendars.
2. Also, regardless of this pending approval, we will NOT be attending the VisitLakeNorman.com Kickoff the weekend prior (Aug 25-26). Instead, there is a good chance we will be included in playing some friendly matches with the teams from Richmond, VA who will be coming down that weekend.
3. Scrimmages: Bob would like as many scrimmages as all our schedules can handle (both 11v11 as well as 8v8) as we are at a severe disadvantage playing teams that have played together for years as we start the season off. So, as of now, I have the following confirmed: Sunday, August 12th @ 5:00P at WRAL versus CASL Tsnaumis - a U13 Challenge team that won the Challenge State Cup last year. We will play 11v11 with some kids from Premier Black. There will also be an informal 8v8 with the CASL Hawks - a division 1 Challenge team that made the Challenge State Cup finals last year. We are trying to sort the date out but probably looking at either the week of July 30th or August 13th some time.
4. Training Videos - please let me know if you've had any trouble watching the videos that Bob has assigned us for Team Camp.
5. For those in town, we are definitely playing in the Chelsea 3's on Saturday, August 4th. We will make 2 teams for the tournament to make sure everyone gets touches.
6. Starting the week of July 16th - there will be twice a week optional training hosted by Bob for the boys. Bob wanted me to make sure I stressed that this was optional in case you had vacation plans. We won't do this at WRAL but do them on fields in Cary and Raleigh. More info to follow.
Monday, June 18
Confirmed: Chelsea 3's
Coach Harris has confirmed that we will be creating two teams for the Chelsea 3's tournament on Saturday, August 4th.
More information to follow soon, but please block off that day for the tournament.
Thursday, June 14
Potential Fall Tournament Change
FYI - Coach Bob has informed me that there is a chance that we might change our pre-season tournament from the North Meck Kickoff (Aug 25-26) to the CASL Fair Play (Sep 1-2). The main reason is Bob's desire for us to play 11v11 and by having it here that weekend, we can include some select players from the Premier teams.
Bob is on his way to South Carolina for the Region 3 Championships this weekend - so we'll know for sure when he gets back - but wanted to let you know ASAP so you can free up both weekends (for now).
