When the Golden Bears needed a goal, a leader on the field, or a play-maker, Taylor's name was called. She answered, too. Merion finished the season 16-7 overall and made its first trip to the District One championship game with the assistance of Taylor. She finished her Merion career with 46 goals, while also being named to the All-State First Team. Merion coach Jen Campbell noted the importance of Taylor on her squad saying: "Taylor has been an integral part of Merion's success over the past four seasons." The senior forward will attend Georgetown University next fall.

Theresa Testa, senior Merion Mercy

Testa has been apart of Merion's success, too. The past two seasons she has been a team captain, and was named to the All-State First Team as well. She finished her career at Merion with 26 goals. Alex Jahnle, senior Episcopal Academy

One of the most important things a player can bring to a team is leadership. Jahnle was leader. She scored eight goals and five assists this season for the Churchwomen, but other than having great transition skills, EA head coach Gina Buggy noted: "[Jahnle is] an excellent leader and a tireless competitor." She proved it, too.

Lauren Whalen, senior Villa Maria

This senior sweeper was huge this season for the Hurricanes. The team won the District One title, and Whalen was one of the reasons why. She is a four year starter on a defensive unit that only allowed 27 goals this season. Said Hurricanes coach Maurene Polley: "Lauren is a reliable defender with a good strong hit. She is a dedicated player with a strong work ethic."

Katie Briglia, junior Villa Maria

While Whalen was leading the defense, Briglia had the offense for the Hurricanes. She scored 18 goals this season for the 18-3 Hurricanes and led the team with six goals in the District playoffs. "She is a great team player who moves well to the ball, and possesses good speed, " said Polley.

Laura Wagoner, junior Agnes Irwin

Next season the Owls will have this forward returning to the team, and they will need her, too. This season Wagoner scored 10 goals for the Owls while dishing out three assists. She was also selected to the All-Inter-Ac First Team for her production.

Kim Zamojcin, senior Archbishop Carroll Runner-up for Player of the Year

Zamojcin departs the Main Line field hockey scene with a bang. With the addition of helping the Pats win their third straight Catholic League title, the senior forward scored 25 goals and 11 assists this season. One can only hope she continues this dominance on the next level.

Rachel Walsh, senior Archbishop Carroll

Every field hockey player can not play great defense. It's a gift. Walsh was given that gift. She only scored one goal and dished out five assists, but her game thrived in the defense department as she had 25 stops and 17 interceptions for the Pats this season. Offense mixed with a good defense equals championship. Carroll and Villa are an example of that notion.

Maddie Brannau, junior Sacred Heart

This defensive specialist started 17 games for Sacred Heart this season. She earned AACA honors and was called on fequentley if the Lions needed someone to handle to the Main Line's top players. Said Lions coach Suzanne Finley: "[She was] our go to girl if we needed some of the top teams' players shut down in games such as Carroll, Mount St. Joes, Villa Maria, Merion and Radnor."

Megan Deakins, senior Conestoga

Duke University was smart. They seen something in Deakins early on, went after her before every other school, and she committed to the university last fall. This fall Deakins scored 25 goals for the Pioneers, earned an All-Central League Honors, and led Conestoga as a team captain. Said Pioneers coach Karen Gately: "Megan is one of the most intense players I have ever coached. She dominates the field."

Jamie Caniglia, senior Radnor

The center midfielder was named to the All-Delco First Team, All Central League First Team, and scored a goal in the Central League All-Star game. Nice job. She finished this season having scored three goals and dished out eight assist for the Red Raiders this season. Said Radnor coach Angelique DiRocco: "Jamie is one of the leagues most outstanding players and midfielders."

Helene Caniglia, freshman Radnor

Yes, you read that right. She is only a freshman. Up and coming field hockey players are easy to spot nowadays. Just look for someone like Caniglia. The freshman scored 13 goals for Radnor and was named to the All-Central League First Team. There's more to come.

Cia Williams, senior Academy of Notre Dame

The Irish won the Inter-Ac this season, going 13-5-2 overall and 10-2 in the league. It should be no surprise that Williams was girl that helped lead them this season. The forward scored seven goals this season, was not only a leader but a playmaker, getting a freshman like Kelly Gerzabek (four goals three assists) more involved in the offense.

Jill Keeney, sophomore Shipley

Keeney was one of the up and coming players last season for the Gators. She continues to grow. She led Shipley this season with 14 points (three goals and 11 assists) and is already named a team captain for next season by Gators coach Katie Whelan.

Rhian Jones, senior Haverford High Player of the Year

Perhaps one of the best players, if not the best, on the Main Line, Jones has ended her career at Haverford High the same way she started it – with dominance. The senior midfielder scored 24 goals, dished out 42 assists and helped the Fords finish the year with a 23-4 overall record. She was named the All-Delco Player or the Year, named to the All-Region All American Team, named to the USA U-19 Team, the USA U-21 Team, the All-Central League First Team, the Pennsalvana All-State First Team and the All-American High School First Team. Wow.

Emily Edwards, senior Haverford High

When opponents doubled Jones, the senior midfielder made them pay when she passed the ball off to Edwards. The senior forward did not disappoint. Edwards scored 13 goals for the year and was named to the All-Central League First Team and won All-Delco Honors.
