Carpe Diem Juniors Volleyball Club Parents Program Guidelines Please initial beside each guideline to signify that you have read them. _____1. We realize that Carpe Diem Juniors is a program that seeks excellence in its players and coaches and we are committing our finicial support for the entire season. Even if our daughter chooses to leave the program at any time. _____2. We realize the use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs could result in our daughter's dismissal from the Carpe Diem Juniors program. _____3. As parents we will be postitive and refrain from any public outburst that could be detrimental to the Carpe Diem Juniors program, our daughter, or any teammates or coaches. We also expect the same from the Carpe Diem Juniors program and its staff members. We will handle any and all complaints in a proffessional manner and at no time will a coach be verbally attacked or approached about such issues. _____4. I understand that all complaints (ie. playing time) will be taken up first with Club director- Eric Shick, in the initial form of an email describing the problem to which he will respond to me in a timely manner afterthe problem has been discussed and a solution has been reached. _____5. All out of town travel will be done either with us (parents) driving or an approved parental substitute (a different family member or another teammate's parent). If I allow my child to drive or to ride with another athlete, I am doing so at my own risk and understand that Carpe Diem does not like for athletes to drive themselves or to ride with other players to out of town tournaments. Carpe Diem also does not like for their coaches to drive your daughters to the tournaments for liability reasons. _____6. We understand that there are fund raising options available and that if we choose not to participate in them that full payment is still required. _____7. Practice and Match Protocol- As a parent I understand that: a. All practices are mandatory unless my child plays another high school sport. b. Only juniors and seniors are allowed to miss practice for Prom. All other Prom activities must be attended at your own time, not practice time or match time c. All athletes will have specified work duties at the beginning and end of practice and during tournaments including reffing duties. d. If we host a tournament I will make my child stay to the very end and help clean up afterwards and will not take them away early leaving more work for the rest of the team. e. I will try to have my child 15 minutes early to practice. They can warm up, stretch or help set up. _____8. The practice prior to any tournament must be attended to be eligible to participate in the starting line up for the tournament. Exceptions will be made for athletes who participate in High School sports. _____9. We understand that every player will receive the same training and time in practice. We also understand that due to various factors in competition such as national seeding, attempting to qualify for Nationals, coaching decisions, excessive missed practice time, illness, etc. all players might not receive the same amount of playing time in tournaments.
