Welcome to the Carolina All-Stars!! The Carolina All-Stars provide opportunities for girls to improve their basketball skills, develop character and compete against the best female athletes in the country. We are fortunate to have dedicated coaches providing excellent instruction to help every girl be the best that she can be at the game of basketball. Our hope is that the experience of the girls with the Carolina All-Stars will be positive. Our organization is not just about basketball. CAROLINA ALL-STARS/ NC FLIGHT SHANNON SMITH COMMITS TO PLAY FOR COACH HATCHELL AT UNC-CH
The Carolina All-Stars/NC Flight Girls Basketball Organization is pleased to announced that today Shannon Smith committed to play for Coach Sylvia Hatchell at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill beginning in the fall of 2010.
Shannon is a very talented 5'7" point guard from Gastonia, NC with a strong handle and high basketball IQ. She sees the floor well, delivers pinpoint accurate passes and has the ability to shoot from 3 point range off the dribble. During the 2008-2009 season, Shannon was the only non-senior to be named to the AP All-State 1st team. She averaged 26 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals per game. Her season highs were 42 points and 12 assists (3 twices). Shannon is a tremendous competitor and proven leader and winner. Her NC Flight/Carolina All-Stars travel teams have claimed Northe Carolina State AAU championships in each of the last 4 years and captured the 2008 AAU Sophomore Super Showcase Championship last summer in Disney. Shannon helped lead her Forestview High School team to the 2009 AAA state championship game. Shannon was also named the 2009 State Player of the Year by the North Carolina High School Coaches Association. Shannon has been trained and is coached by her dad, Kevin Smith who is the co-director of the NC Flight/Carolina All-Stars Girls Basketball Organization. Her high school coach is Ken Beatty of Gastonia Forestview High School. Shannon is the daughter of Kevin and Ramada Smith and has an older brother Kevin and younger sister Lauren. Lauren plays on the 2009 13-Under State Championship Team.

2009 Carolina All-Stars 13-Under Team Win AAU State Championship
The 2009 Carolina All-Stars 13-Under Team claimed the North Carolina AAU State Championship on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Fayetteville, North Carolina defeating the WNC Lady Royals 65 - 39 in the championship game. Along the way to the state championship, the team defeated the following teams by an average of 35 points (Team Reign, Lake Norman Magic, Alamance Elite and WNC Lady Royals). In July, the team is head to the National Championships to be held in Kings Island, Ohio. 11 and Under Carolina All-Stars 3rd Straight NC AAU CHAMPIONSHIP
The Carolina All-Stars 11 and Under team finished the weekend with their 3rd straight North Carolina AAU State Championship. While doing this, they remain undefeated in the State of North Carolina in there age group 3 years in a row. Way to go girls!!!

Carolina All-Stars 9 and Under Capture the YBOA National Title
Carolina All-Stars 9 and Under are YBOA National Champions
The Carolina All-Stars 9 and Under team have arrived back home with some serious hardware. They have come back with the 9 and Under Girls National Champions Title and National Championship Trophy. Girls traveling to nationals were: Tajah Clark, Amber Courtney, Tamia Eatmon, Quineshia Graham, Kiara Jacobs, Mariah Jacobs, Mon Jones, Brittany Kelly, Jamia Kenan, Imari McLean, Jazmyne Norwood, Nakeisha Revels, Kirsten Smith, Bryanna Staton, and Jessica Wall. The girls played an awesome tournament and went undefeated during bracket play. Special thanks to Coaches Brian Norwood, John Courtney and Sherai Jones. The girls also capture many individual and team awards which are listed below. Excellent Job Ladies!!!
