12/28/2008

If you are interested in participating in the CVC 2008 Training League you should contact Coach Kehoe at dkehoe@ccs.k12.in.us or dougk5257@aol.com to reserve your spot for this year.

I have sent out an email to everyone that signed up and left an email address at the November 13th CVC parent meeting. (Some people did not leave an email address).

The Training League is designed for grades 3-5. It is a fantastic opportunity to get excellent instruction on the basic fundamentals skills of volleyball such as passing, serving, setting and spiking. The league will begin on Monday January 7th, 2008. The league will run 6 weeks and end on February 25th. Cost this year will be the same as last year $110 plus there is a USVA registration membership cost of $20. Please contact Coach Kehoe ASAP so you can get into this years league. There will be limited enrollment (12-16) to insure manageable instructor player ratio. If you see or know of someone not on the email list please send me their information or fell free to pass this information along to them. I would like to start this years training league at 4:30. I hope this is not a major problem for anyone. I can try and help you with car pooling with other parents if you need assistance. I know this time is earlier than what you were told at the parent meeting, but due to limited gym space this year the 4:30 start time will be best for the total CVC program.

12/20/2008

Hi Everybody, Thank you very much to everyone for attending the Meeting on Monday 17th.   I will be cashing your club fee deposit checks soon. If you did not order sportswear (jacket, pant, bag) and would be like to place an order you need to contact me asap. My sportswear vendor has informed me that old style jackets (they are the heavier coat type) are still available.  You can order sizes Youth XL though Adult S-XL. The jackets would be royal blue with white trim. They could have a CVC logo on the back (your decision), and on the front could be your name (your decision)– first only, last only, or first and last. What ever you decided individually. If you are interested let me know asap so I can place to order in a timely matter. Remember sportswear is totally optional. The old style jackets cost $50 If you have questions just let me know. Happy Holidays to everyone

12/17/2008

Hi Everybody,It was great to see familiar faces and meet all the new people last night at the meeting.Thank you for giving up your time to be there. I hope that the meeting provided you with some important and valuable information about the CVC 2008 season. If you were unable to attend last night I do need the following 1. T-shirt and short sizes (uniform) 2. If you want any sportswear (jacket, pant, bag) I will need the sizes and style. These cost extra and are not required. Your coach will be contacting soon with your individual team information. I will be updating the web site periodically, so keep checking back for more information.  I am very excited about the season this year and hope you are as well. Thanks again for all your support for your daughter and the program.

12/16/2008 Parents - Players - Coaches Meeting - please be there!

Hi Everyone,

I just arrived back into town. Wow, welcome home to the cold and snowy Midwest. You gotta love that Indiana weather. I send everyone an email about the parent, player, and coaches meeting on Friday. If you did not receive the email we have a problem. Please see me at the meeting on Monday and we can get things squared away. The meeting is Monday at Orchard Park Church 7:00-8:00 uniform and spirit wear sizing. At 8:00 I will talk for a short while, after a talk we will break down into teams and the coaches will go over your team information (rules, expectations, tournament schedule, etc.) Make sure to bring your work and family calendars. Hopefully the meeting will get over around 8:45ish. Please bring your check book. I will have some old t-shirts and things to sell a discount. We will also collect any club fees if possible. I am looking forward to see everyone on Monday. Thanks Coach Kehoe

12/10/2008 Team Selections

We had a very challenging task, but we were able to divide, separate, and place all the girls by age division, skill, and in most cases by preferred practice days. This process required a lot of thought and discussion by the coaches. Since the try out numbers did not work out perfectly we had to move some 12's to 13's and some 13's to 14's. We feel strongly that this was in the best interest of the individual player’s and each team.

We did the very best we could and I hope that everyone will feel positive about our decisions. We had a huge puzzle to put together and we were able to place everyone who tried out on a team. We feel very good about that accomplishment. We made the teams by evaluating each player on their current skill level. We will expect to see a lot of individual improvement as the season progresses. Now starts the fun part of being a coach. We will finally get to start coaching and teaching volleyball. We have a few openings if you know of anyone who still wants to play.  Have them get in contact with Coach Kehoe ASAP. We could pick up a player on Coach Littleton’s and/or Coach Ciano’s 12’s teams. They currently only have 8 players and it might be possible to add one more player to each team to make 9 players.

Dear Parents,
At the completion of the club season I plan to start doing private volleyball lessons.
Private instruction is a great way to get individual attention towards skill development and improvement. I will be able to work in a one on one situation and/or in small groups. Lessons generally last for one hour. I don't have many details right now such as days, time, location, and cost. I will first need to know how many girls are in interested in participating. Once I know what the interest is then I will be able to determine how to proceed. If you are interested in lessons or have questions please Email me at dkehoe@ccs.k12.in.us
I am looking forward to this opportunity.
Thank you
Coach Kehoe
