**************************************************************************************

* ALL COMMUNICATIONS (EMAILS-VERBAL-TEXTS-LETTERS-ETC.) BETWEEN YOU AND COLLEGES MUST BE CC'd TO GUIDO / J.D.!!!

* ALL UNSIGNED/NON-COMMITTED SR's ('14) should have taken the SAT @ least 3x & ACT @ least 2x before graduation.  If you are considering Ivy League and other High Academic Based schools then you need to take SAT Subject Tests as well as the std. SAT/ACT.  All of the items below for Jr's and Sr's should be done in addition to sending out letters to new leads and developing further relationships with all the colleges you have send letters to from below and got from the showcase leads you have received.

* ALL UNSIGNED/NON-COMMITTED JR's ('15) should have taken the SAT @ least 2X by the end of their JR year & ACT @ least 1X.  All of below must be done in addition to sending out 75 min. more letters before Dec and 75 min. more by June 1st.  Continue to follow up on leads and responses and send out 50 min. more out between June-Sept.  Jr's must have a skills tape done by the Fall of their JR year so plan for this cost.

* ALL UNSIGNED/NON-COMMITTED SOPH's ('16) should have taken the PSAT by the end of year (check with your counselor because PSAT only given 2x per year and most given during the Fall) & you should be doing unofficial visits/tours at local colleges to start to determine what types of school you are looking for (large - med - small), etc.  Also you should be sending out letters (50 min. before Dec and 50 min before June 1st and another 50 min. between June-Sept), this does not include leads we get from showcases.  You MUST have a SAT/ACT prep-class (in whatever form you learn best in - on-line, live, video, tutor) before you start your JR year!!!! THE SAT / ACT AND YOUR GRADES ARE THAT IMPORTANT!!!

* ALL UNSIGNED/NON-COMMITTED FROSH's ('17) should work on establishing good skills not only on the field but in the classroom.  Projects need to be done early, don't procrastinate.  If you have the slightest problem in a class get used to asking for help before it turns into a problem.  All the activities involved with h.s. can over-whelm if you don't stay on top of them.  If you can't handle our practices, homework, extra activities then college will not be easy for you because it is much harder!  Get a planner and use it!  Learn to turn off the technology that disrupts you and learn to say no to extra activities when it will hurt your studies or athletic goals, other activities will always be there when you get on top of your studies/athletic goals.

** REMEMBER, ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS GOING TO TAKE HARDWORK & SACRIFICE BUT THE REWARDS WILL BE MORE THAN WORTH IT IN THE END!!! ***

PASADENA STAR NEWS (3/13/13 -By John Sherrard Correspondent) - The Bonita High School softball team held off a late bases-loaded rally by tournament host Charter Oak for a 3-1 quarterfinal victory in the 32nd Annual Charger Classic Wednesday afternoon at Big League Dreams in a game called after six innings due to a time limit.

With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, Bonita senior pitcher Bianca Cockrell breathed a sigh of relief as third baseman Vienna Benavides snared a line drive from Charter Oak junior left fielder Anissa Gallegos to end the game...

"That was our shot to tie the game," Charter Oak coach Scott Higuera said. "We were able to get some girls on base and she (Gallegos) made good contact and just came up short."...

Bonita jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run to left field by sophomore Chloe Melanson (2 for 3)...

Both pitchers, junior Brooke Clemetson (2-2) of Charter Oak and Bianca Cockrell ('13), went the distance and struck out three batters....
