For Wednesdays 7/8 through 7/29:

VARSITY:                 7-8 p.m.
JV/FRESHMAN:          6-7 p.m.
MODIFIED 5TH-8TH:  7-8 p.m.

During the summer of 2009 Capitalland Lacrosse and Field Hockey Club is offering weekly evening Boys lacrosse leagues for grades 5 through 12 and instructional programs for all skill levels in grades K-10.

All leagues will play at the Halfmoon Sportsplex.  All instructional programs will take place at the Clifton Commons.  Click here for directions to either location.

Register early to ensure your spot.  We will be accepting applications 1/2 hour prior to each scheduled session as long as spots are available. 


WEEKLY EVENING LACROSSE LEAGUES (Sportsplex, Halfmoon)


All leagues will be held at the Sportsplex in Halfmoon on Wednesday nights starting June 24 through July 29, excluding July 1.  Starting game times will rotate for each league between 6 and 8 p.m. 

The fee for each program is $90, if paid before June 22.  Fees are $110 after that date. 

There is NO pay-per-night program.

Our evening program will be set up as a fully-run league.  The format for each league of play will include weekly divisional play.  Records will be kept.  A playoff tournament will be held after the regular session league games conclude.  Each game will be refereed by a qualified referee and supervised by a CLL representative. 

Each player will be contacted by phone or by e-mail as to which team they are on and what time they will play the first night.  This contact will take place no later than 6/22.  A league schedule of play will also be handed out at the first night of play. 

Players can participate in both leagues and instructional programs, as they are held on separate nights.


League divisions are as follows:

Varsity Division (Grades 10-12)
Boys going into grades 10-12 in fall of 2009 who will be trying out for their varsity teams next spring.  All 10th graders should have three years' experience.

JV/Freshman Division (Grades 8-10)
Boys going into grades 8-10 in fall of 2009 who will be trying out for their junior varsity or freshman teams next spring.  All 8th graders should have three years' experience.

Modified (Grades 5-8)
Boys going into grades 5-8 in fall of 2009 who will be trying out for their school's travel or home teams or the Albany Capitals program.  All 5th graders should have at least three years' experience and be of adequate size and toughness to play with 8th graders.

WEEKLY EVENING LACROSSE PROGRAMS (Clifton Commons)

These programs will be taught by Coach Gary Weiss, former Shenenedehowa Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach and 1992 Coach of the Year, as well as Coach Chad Finck, former Shaker High School Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach and five-time Section II Champion. 

In each program players will be assigned to groups based on their age and skill level.  Each player will be given quality instruction that fits the player's level of experience and includes individual skill work, offensive/defensive tactics and techniques, team concepts, and goalie skills, as well as full-field games and overall recommendations. 

There will be equipment available to rent for a small fee.

These programs will be offered on Tuesday nights from June 23 through July 21

The fee for each program is $95 (except the co-ed K-5th grade program which is $85), if paid before June 21.  Fees are $110 after that date.

We also have a pay-per-night program for those players who can only make a night or two.  The fee is $25 per night.  Pay-per-night players must sign in and pay at our front desk in order to receive a playing pass, located in front of the hockey rink.

All requests for refunds must follow Town policies and go through the Town of Clifton Park.  Capitalland Lacrosse & Field Hockey is only acting as agent for summer programs.  The Town phone number is 371-6667.
 
Evening instructional programs are as follows:

Advanced Skills Program--Grades 6 to 10 (6:00-7:00 PM)
This program is for the intermediate and advanced skill level players that have been playing lacrosse for a while and have good deal of skill.  These players want to refine their skills while being introduced to more advanced techniques, so they can capture a starting position on their high school's team.

Beginner and Novice Program--Grades 6 to 10 (6:00-7:00 PM)
This program is for players that are novice or beginning lacrosse players who need to sharpen their basic skills while being introduced to more advanced techniques that they will need in order to make their school's modified, freshman or junior varsity teams.

Boys Elementary Level Program--Grades 2 to 5 (7:00-8:00 PM)
This program is for all levels of players who want to learn how to play lacrosse the right way.  Players will sharpen their existing skills while being introduced to more advanced skills.

Co-Ed K-5th Grade Non-Contact (6:00-7:00 PM)
This is a stick-only program.  For players who are just starting out and want to learn the basics of the game of lacrosse in a fun atmosphere.  Will be using a puffball.

EQUIPMENT

Players must wear personal equipment mandated by high school lacrosse regulations. There will be requisite equipment available for rent by any person in need.
