The Capitalland Lacrosse Club is running TWO SEPARATE MEN'S INDOOR PROGRAMS during December 2009 and January/February 2010.
The first is an open-play program where players can sign up each night to play lacrosse for that night. The second is a fully-run league where teams will play on a weekly basis and eventually compete in a championship tournament.
Each program will be held on the turf fields at the SPORTSPLEX in Halfmoon on Thursday nights.
MEN'S 17-AND-OVER CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY OPEN LACROSSE
During the holiday break we will be having a special round-robin nightly lacrosse tournament. On the Thursday evenings listed below we will break into teams and play three games cumulating in a championship shootout. Come with your friends and play on the same team or as a free agent. No need to sign up in advance--just show up 20 minutes before each date to sign in.
Cost is only $12 per night.
We will play 10 to 11 p.m. on the following dates:
Thursday 12/10
Thursday 12/17
Thursday 1/7
MEN LACROSSE LEAGUE (JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2010)
This program will include a weekly league with divisional play. We will be starting Thursday 1/14 and playing through 2/25, excluding 2/18. All games begin at 10 p.m.
A league schedule will be provided online before the start of Week 2.
The league format of play will include weekly divisional play. Records will be kept. Playoffs will be held after the regular session league games conclude. Each game will be refereed by a qualified referee and supervised by a Capitalland Lacrosse representative. A limited number of teams will be accepted.
The fee is $95 when signing up to play before 1/12/10 or $105 after that date. There is no "pay per night" option. A $30 non-refundable deposit is included in the fee, and refunds given after the second week of play will be issued in the form of credit towards future Capitalland Lacrosse and Field Hockey programs.
Please register by mail early to reserve your spot. We will be accepting applications 1/2 hour prior to each scheduled session as long as spots are available.
Players or teams can enroll using one of the following three means:
-Group of players can form a full team
Each team will have a minimum of 14 players and a maximum of 18 players.
-Group of players can form a partial team
-An individual player can sign up as a free agent and be placed with other free agents on Capitalland's home team
No high school players allowed, except goalies.
The format of play will be in a 2-3-2 setup. Each game will have 22-minute running halves with a five-minute halftime.
Each player will receive an official game pinnie. Since players do miss games because of work, sickness, vacations, etc. each team will have a minimum of fourteen players on their rosters and a maximum of eighteen. Capitalland holds the right to add players to a team that does not have the full fourteen players. It is recommended that each team consist of at least eight offensive players, four defensive players and two goalies. A team has until the third week of play to add a player to their roster.
All players need to check in 15 minutes before their first game to pick up their pinnies. Our leagues are set up in a competitive yet fun atmosphere. Limited body checking allowed. Experienced and novice players welcome.
