The Capitalland Lacrosse Club is running two indoor men's lacrosse programs on the turf fields at the Sportsplex in Halfmoon this October, November and December. Our first program is a fully-run league and our second program is a holiday break nightly tournament.
We highly encourage everyone to register by mail early, as spots fill up quickly.
Registrations are accepted by mail at 7 Azalea Ct., Clifton Park, NY, 12065 or within a half-hour of the start time of each session, as long as spots are available. (Please note pay-per-night options are not available for some sessions.)
A $30 non-refundable fee is included in the price of all programs.
MEN'S WINTER II LACROSSE LEAGUES
DATES/TIMES:
WEEKS 1 AND 2
--Play on Tuesday 10/20 and Tuesday 10/27, starting at 8 p.m.
--Remember to check in 15 minutes before the first game to pick up schedules, pinnies and league rules.
WEEKS 3 THROUGH 6
--Play Thursday nights, excluding 11/26, which will be made up on Fri., 11/27
--Game starting times are 9 or 10 p.m.
--League schedule will be provided online prior to the start of Week 2
FEES:
--$95 if paid by 10/18 and $105 if paid later
--Includes $30 non-refundable deposit
--No pay-per-night option
--A team has until start of the third week of play to add a player to roster
TEAMS:
A limited number of teams will be accepted. Each team will have a minimum of fourteen (14) players on their rosters and a maximum of eighteen (18). A team has until the third week of play to add a player to their roster. Capitalland Lacrosse reserves the right to add players to a team that does not sign up with a full team of at least fourteen (14) players. It is recommended that each team consist of at least eight (8) offensive players, four (4) defensive players and two (2) goalies.
No current high school players are allowed in the Men's Leagues, except goalies.
Players or teams can enroll using one of the following three means:
-Group of players can form a full team. Captains must email a full roster to chad@capitallandlacrosse.com by 10/18.
-Group of players can form a partial team. Partial team members must email roster to chad@capitallandlacrosse.com by 10/18.
-An individual player can sign up as a free agent and be placed with other free agents on Capitalland's home team. If you wish to play as a free agent, email chad@capitallandlacrosse.com.
FORMAT:
The league format of play will include weekly divisional play. Records will be kept. Playoffs will be held after the regular session league games conclude. Each game will be officiated by a qualified referee and supervised by a Capitalland Lacrosse representative. Limited body checking will be allowed. Experienced and beginner players are welcome.
The format of play will be a 2-3-2 setup. Each game will have two 22-minute running halves with a 5-minute halftime.
JERSEYS:
Each player will receive an official game pinnie on the first night.
HOLIDAY BREAK LACROSSE (THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS)
During holiday breaks we will be having special round-robin nightly lacrosse tournaments. Players will split into teams and play three games, culminating in a championship shootout. Come on out with your friends and play on the same team, or play as a free agent--we'll put you on a team.
Players don't need to sign up in advance--just arrive 20 minutes prior to start time to sign in.
Cost is $12 per night.
DATES/TIMES:
THANKSGIVING LACROSSE will be held on Friday 11/27, 4-5 p.m.
CHRISTMAS LACROSSE will be held:
--Thursday, 12/10 from 10-11 p.m.
--Thursday, 12/17 from 10-11 p.m.
--Thursday, 1/7 from 10-11 p.m.
SITE
The Sportsplex of Halfmoon is located off Exit 8A of the Northway. Head east off the exit until you reach Route 9. Turn left and go about two miles. The Sportsplex is on the left behind the Soccer Unlimited store on Corporate Drive. Enter Corporate Drive at the sign for Pai's Tae-Kwon-Doe.
EQUIPMENT
Players must wear personal equipment mandated by high school lacrosse regulations. There will be requisite equipment available for rent by any person in need. Cleats can be worn as long as they have no metal parts to them.
REGISTRATION
Pre-registration by mail to: Capitalland Lacrosse, 7 Azalea Ct., Clifton Park, NY 12065. Registrations will also be accepted 1/2 hour prior to each scheduled session as long as space is available.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
If weather conditions are threatening, please contact 383-3245 one hour before play for information as to whether programs will be in session.
