We are all set to go! The website is updated with game schedules and the format we are using for this year's tournament. There will be one division in the 25+ and two pool divisions in the 35+. ** Note: All 25+ division games this year are 9 innings.
Looks to be another great weekend of baseball and we are looking forward to your visit to our great city.
This is an MSBL (Mens Senior Baseball League) Tournament. It is being sponsored by the Columbus, Ohio MSBL.
2009 Results: Tournament was cancelled due to rain.
2008 Results:
The weather was beautiful for baseball. The fields were in top shape and manicured nicely. The tournament field was very competitive again this year and once again we had an extra inning game in the 35+ division championship. The 2008 Capital City Classic was a success.
The field was split perfectly with 10 teams in each division. Teams and players came from Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and West Virginia.
In the 35+ division, the Detroit Giants outlasted the Pontiac Parkers in 10 innings, 2-1 to defend their title. The 25+ division championship game was won by Cleveland Steve's Sports, 9-3 over the defending champion Detroit Angels who played in '07 as the Detroit Indios.
