Canyon View: 2006 Regular Season Divisions
10-12 year olds. This is a competitive division for CVLL. Players are drafted after evaluations. Practices of 2-3 times a week (may change after games begin) and two games a week. Playing time will vary. Players will specialize at a limited number of positions. Playing time can be limited to six defensive outs. There is a continuous batting order.Most games are at 5:00 and 7:15 during the week and from 8:00-7:15 on a Saturday.
AAA Baseball
T-Ball
5-6 year olds.Two practices a week before games start, two games a week with one during the week and one on Saturday. All games at Mehl park. Start times 5:00 week days, 8-5 on Saturdays.
Coaches Pitch
7 year olds. Two practices a week before games stare, one practice after games start. Two games per week, one during the week and one on Saturday. All games at Mehl park.
AA
8-9 year olds. Two practices per week before games start, one practice per week after games start. Two games per week, one during the week, one on Saturday. All games at Mehl park. Player and parent pitch, instructional level with emphasis on developing baseball skills at a wide range of positions.
AAA American League
9-12 year olds. Two practices per week (may change after games begin) and two games per week. Increased level of competition over AA. Players are placed in this division after evaluations. Instruction is major emphasis with equal plaing time and opportunity to play various positions. All games at Mehl Park.
Juniors
This division is for 13-15 year olds. These divisions play inter-league games with other little leagues. Fields are located primarily in northern and northeast Tucson.
Softball Minors
8-12 year old girls who are playing first or second year of softball. One to two practices per week and two games per week. Games include other leagues at Mehl Park and other areas including MacDonald Park, Ft. Lowell, etc. This division emphasizes instruction with emphasis on increasing softball skills.
Softball Majors
9-12 year olds with emphasis on comptetition. Players are selected for teams based upon evaluation of skils. Practices are 1-2 times per week with two games per week. Playing time based upon skills.
Softball Seniors
13-15 year old girls with increased level of competition. 1-2 practices per week and 2 games per week. Team travels to other leagues including CDO, Tanque Verde, etc.
