Canyon Lake Little League: Coaches Corner

It will be madantory to take a online course from Positive Coaching Alliance if you want to manage for Spring 2010.

The reason being, baseball isn't only about how to hit, run, and throw, it is also an emotional game that the kids need positive influence at all times to make your team stronger as the season moves forward.  Baseball teaches the youth on how to deal with failures as much as successes, and as a manager, you must be prepared for these up and downs.

There will be more to come, but we plan to have some clinics for managers and coaches as well.  For our league to become stronger, we must make sure the Managers and Coaches are better.

I am pleased to announce that the 2010 San Diego Padres Coaches Clinics will be held at PETCO Park on Sunday, January 31, and the evenings of Monday, February 1 and Tuesday, February 2.  The clinics will be facilitated by Baseball ASAP and will focus on three age levels: ages 5-8; ages 9-12; and ages  13-14.  Additionally, I would like to your feedback on the inclusion of a 30-minute safety training.  If there is interest it would be our pleasure to provide the space for that again this year.

We selected the local organization Baseball ASAP because of their proven track record, their dedication to encouraging  the development of young people as athletes and as students, and the importance of the Baseball ASAP relationship with the Padres - chief pitching instructor Juan Eichelberger was the Padres first round draft pick in 1975.

You’ll soon be receiving a formal electronic invitation to attend a Little League DA Meeting which will include information about the 2010 Little League Day, the accompanying equipment drive and our Coaches Clinics.  We are anticipating that the meeting will be the week of November 16.
