Canyon Lake Little League: AA Info

Saturday, May 10
Rules and guidlines

This division was created to help bridge the gap between Coach Pitch and Kid Pitch , it is a great addition to the learning curve for all children.

Division AA Rules2009

·                    Teams are allowed 10 players in the field and one coach.

·                    Kids will pitch a maximum of 4 pitches to each batter.  If the ball has not been put in play the batter’s team coach may then pitch 2 pitches to the batter.  If the ball still has not been put in play the batter is out.  If the ball is hit foul on the second or subsequent coach pitch, the coach may pitch another ball.

·                    Little League rules regarding pitch counts will be observed.  However no child will ever pitch more than two innings in one game.

·                    No balls or strikes will be called.

·                    Each inning will consist of nine batters or three outs whichever comes first.

·                    Players should be rotated every two innings including pitchers.

·                    Game times will have no new inning starting after 1 hr 20 minutes.  New inning starts at the time of the last out of the previous inning.

o       6 innings will constitute a complete game.

o       Ties after six innings will be played out with additional innings. (no time limit) *tournament only

·                    Runners cannot advance on overthrows or infield errors.

·                    No intentional bunting.

·                    Once the ball reaches the infield, (not necessarily in the pitcher’s or any players possession) runners cannot advance.  If the runner is between the bases and has committed to taking the next base when the ball reaches the infield, the runner may take the next base. If the ball never leaves the infield, a maximum of one base for all runners will be allowed.  This will be an umpire’s discretion call.  Do to the nature that this is a judgment call, there will be absolutely no arguing between the managers.

·                    If the ball rolls under or through the fence it is a ground rule double.

·                    The yellow coping on the fence is in play.  The ball must go over the fence for a home run.  (hitting the coping and going over is a home run)

·                    Score will not be kept in the first half but will be kept in the second half.

·                    Managers are responsible for their fans.  Fans are allowed to offer only positive encouragement to players.
