2009 REGISTRATION PROCESS IS CLOSED:
Canton Lions Veteran player registration started Thursday, January 15, 2009 and concluded on Saturday, February 28, 2009.
The Canton Lions accepted NEW Football player and Cheerleader registrations from Sunday, March 1, 2009 - Tuesday, March 31, 2009. The registrations must be mailed in and cannot be postmarked prior to March 1st. No hand delivered registrations will be accepted! NO EXCEPTIONS
New players and cheerleaders are placed in available positions on a 'first come, first served' basis. Therefore, your prompt reply is strongly suggested. Please return your completed registration form(s) along with a copy of his/her state issued birth certificate and the registration fee to Willis Chapman, our Football Unit Director. Registrations will not be accepted without the full registration fee. If you have any questions, you may contact Willis Chapman @ 734-981-1969.

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING JUNIOR FRESHMEN FOOTBALL:
Junior Freshmen Football registration forms will be posted below on the website by Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Junior Freshmen Football players will NOT play actual games, but scrimmage other teams within our League and practice 2-3 days a week.
The Canton Lions Football Club fields four (4) Football and four (4) Cheerleading squads. We have 4 levels of participation for football - Junior Freshmen = 7 & 8 year old under 110 pounds, Freshmen = 9 & 10 year old, 65 - 125 pounds, Junior Varsity = 10, 11 & 12 year old, 75 - 135 pounds AND Varsity = 12, 13 & 14 year old, 100 - 170 pounds. We have 4 levels of participation for Cheerleading - Junior Freshmen = 6 & 7 year old, Freshmen = 8, 9 & 10 year old, Junior Varsity = 11 & 12 year old AND Varsity = 12, 13 & 14 year old.
Our 2009 season will start in early August with a kick off Family Picnic. Date and location TBA.
Football preseason practices will commence on the first Monday after the picnic and will be 2 hours per day, Monday through Friday, until the season starts the first weekend in September. Once the regular season starts, practices will be Tuesday through Friday.
Our regular season consists of 8 games, generally played on Sundays and a few Saturday games. Playoffs normally start during the first weekend in November and conclude with a WSJFL Super Bowl game.
