Part of the Plymouth-Canton community since 1964, the Canton Lions has provided positive, character-building recreation for hundreds of children over the years. Our focus is on having fun while learning the fundamentals of football and cheerleading. We strive to promote citizenship, sportsmanship, fellowship and physical development. Our teams work hard each year to advance to the playoffs and the Superbowl game by coming together as one; and this effort and dedication have paid off. For the past eight years, a Canton Lions Football team has competed in the Superbowl. We are very proud of our youth and this accomplishment.

Important Announcements

  • Registration for the 2014 season is going on now! If you have questions, please contact the football or cheer unit director.
    • Veteran registration opened Feb. 5. Veteran families (returning from the 2013 season) have received an email with a link for registration.  
    • New player registration opened March 4. Please go to this link to register your child: www.registermefast.com/camps/cantonlions.
      • If a team is full please send an email with your name, email, phone number and team you wish to place your child on the waiting list for to our Unit Director: Cantonlionsunitdirector@yahoo.com
    • Registration documents to be completed can be found in the handouts section.
  • Next monthly Parents Meeting - Tuesday, May 13 at 7 p.m., located at the Summit on the Park facility in Arts 1 room, 46000 Summit Parkway. 
  • Who doesn't like PIZZA and other delicious Italian dishes? When you dine in, carry out or order for delivery from Palermo's Pizzeria and Restaurant on Monday, April 14, Canton Lions Football and Cheerleading will receive a 20 percent donation for every purchase. Just print out and bring the event flier with you. Please share the flier with family and friends, but please do not distribute it at or outside of Palermo's. Thank you for your support!

  • Safety is always the Canton Lions Football and Cheerleading Club's No. 1 priority. Learn more about the state of Michigan's sports concussion legislation, which requires all coaches, employees, volunteers and other adults involved with a youth athletic activity to complete a concussion awareness online training program.

2013 Season Highlights

CONGRATULATIONS to our freshman Lions for their undefeated season and victory in the 2013 Superbowl -and- CONGRATULATIONS to our Lions cheerleaders for success at the 2013 Cheer Rally ... freshman placed gold in dance; junior varsity placed silver in both dance and cheer; and varsity placed bronze in dance. We couldn't be more proud of the ENTIRE Canton Lions organization for the hard work, dedication, strong character and sportsmanship that contributed to an all-around successful 2013 season.
