Canton Little League: 2010 Season Divisions

Bantam
Bantam or Coach Pitch Baseball is for boys and girls 6-7 years old (with an option for 8 year olds) who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Coach Pitch, players are pitched six balls, only strikes are counted on pitched balls that are swung at with no hit. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goal of Coach Pitch is to instruct youngsters in the fundamentals of baseball and allow them to experience the value of teamwork -- but most of all, to have fun.

9 & 10 Division - Minor
9 & 10 Year-Old Baseball division was established by Little League Baseball as part of the Little League Baseball division in 1994. This is one of the three divisions that offer a full range of tournament play, including a World Series. Baseball is player pitched and played on a 60-foot diamond with a 46-foot pitching distance. This league is for boys and girls 9-10 years old (with an option for 8 year olds)

11 & 12 Division - Major
11 & 12 Year-Old Baseball division was established by Little League Baseball as part of the Little League Baseball division in 2004. This is one of the three divisions that offer a full range of tournament play, including a World Series. Baseball is player pitched and played on a 60-foot diamond with a 46-foot pitching distance. This league is for boys and girls 9-10 years old (with an option for 10 year olds added in 2005)

Junior League
Junior League Baseball is for 13 and 14 year-olds. Junior League Baseball uses a conventional 90-foot diamond and is player pitched. This division offers a full range of tournament play, including a World Series.

Senior League
Senior League Baseball is for 14 to 16 year-olds. This division has been added to the 2008 Canton Little League. This is the world’s largest baseball program for this age group with more than 5,000 teams in the division. Senior League Baseball uses a conventional 90-foot diamond and is player pitched. This division offers a full range of tournament play, including a World Series.
