2008 All Star Teams

T-Ball
Ages 4-6

Teaches the basic fundamentals of baseball including hitting, fielding, throwing and base running.

The primary goal of teaching the fundamentals of the game help to introduce the children to the excitement of the game and experience the value of teamwork. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches

Players are assigned to teams in a random order. Consideration is given to siblings.

Players hit the ball of a batting tee. In accordance with Little League rules and for the safety of the children, no pitching is allowed.

Defensive play includes 4 infielders, pitcher, catcher and 4-5 outfielders. The goal is to keep as many of the children involved with the game at all times.

The batting order is continuous and a maximum runs per inning is enforced.

No score or team statistics are kept. There are no league standings or playoffs.

Games are limited to 4 innings or 1 ½ hours, which ever come first.



Minor C Baseball
Ages 6-7

This is where players can further develop the fundamentals they learned in T-Ball in a relaxed non-competitive environment.

The primary goal is to continue to teach the fundamentals of the game while introducing the children to live pitching and some fundamental strategies of the game. Maintaining player safety is an important responsibility of the coach. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches.

Players are assigned to their team in a random order. Consideration is given to siblings.

Coach pitch or pitching machine.

The batting order is continuous and a maximum number of runs per inning are enforced. A coach behind the pitcher’s mound calls balls and strikes.

Defensive play includes 4 infielders, pitcher, catcher and 4 outfielders. Equal playing time is stressed and expected.

No score or team statistics are kept. There are no league standings or playoffs.

Games are scheduled for 5 innings and usually last no longer than 2 hours.



Minor B Baseball
Ages 8

This is where players can further develop the fundamentals they learned in Minor C in a relaxed non-competitive environment.

The primary goal is to continue to teach the fundamentals of the game while introducing the children to live pitching and some fundamental strategies of the game. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches. Maintaining player safety is an important responsibility of the coach.

Players are assigned to their team in a random order. Consideration is given to siblings.

Coaches and children pitch

The batting order is continuous and a maximum number of runs per inning are enforced. A coach behind the pitcher’s mound calls balls and strikes.

Defensive play includes 4 infielders, pitcher, catcher and 3 outfielders. Equal playing time is stressed and expected.

No score or team statistics are kept. There are no league standings or playoffs.

Games are scheduled for 5 innings and usually last no longer than 2 hours.

8-year old players are eligible for all-star selection and play in an 8-yr old district invitational tournament.



Minor A Baseball
Ages 9-11

This is where players can continue to improve the fundamentals in a more competitive environment.

The primary goal of this division is to continue teaching to improve the children’s fundamental skills and teamwork while introducing them to additional strategies of the game. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches.

Players must tryout and are assigned to their teams through the draft method.

Players pitch full time.

Batting order remains continuous and a maximum number of runs per inning are enforced.

An umpire calls balls and strikes.

Defensive play includes 4 infielders, pitcher, catcher and 3 outfielders. Equal playing time is stressed and expected.

Game scores are kept and recorded for the purpose of keeping league standings. League playoffs will be conducted at the conclusion of the regular season.

9-year old players are eligible for all-star selection and play in a 9-yr old district invitational tournament.



Major Baseball
Ages 10-12

This is where players use fundamental skills they learned during their previous years of play while continuing to improve those skills and learn advanced fundamentals and game strategies.

The primary goal of this division is to utilize and improve upon the fundamental skills of the players in a competitive environment. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches.

Players must try out to be eligible to play in this division. Once a team selects a player that player remains with that team until they move to the next division.

The batting order is continuous. Nine players are in defensive positions during play much like standard baseball rules.

Little League Baseball Inc., minimum playing time rules is enforced.

Game scores are kept and recorded for the purpose of keeping league standings. League playoffs will be conducted at the conclusion of the regular season.

Players are eligible for all-star play. 10 year olds are eligible for all-star selection and play in a 10-yr old district invitational tournament. 11-12 year olds are eligible for two different tournament teams.



Junior Baseball
Ages 13-14

This is where players use fundamental skills they learned during their previous years of play while continuing to improve those skills and learn advanced fundamentals and game strategies

The primary goal of this division is to utilize and improve upon the fundamental skills of the players in a competitive environment. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches.
