  Welcome

Walking Up Ballad Boulevard
The campground opens for ticket paying customers at 10:00 AM on Thursday the 14th. The actual concerts follow on Friday the 15th thru Sunday the 17th of August. All campers and volunteers must be out of the campground no later than 11:00 AM on Monday, August 18th.

This is the organizational website for Camping Committee of the PHILADELPHIA FOLK FESTIVAL.

Operationally the Philadelphia Folk Festival is put on by an all-volunteer organization consisting of many committees and the Camping Committee is one of them. In the campground adjacent to the different stages that provide the great music the festival is known for, the Camping Committee offers tent and vehicular camping in a festive and safe environment for literally thousands of happy campers. Both individual campers and families, return year after year to have a great time. I liken this to a refugee camp - but one where people want to be!

The PHILADELPHIA FOLK SONG SOCIETY, sponsors this weekend of great music that takes place in Schwenksville, PA on the Old Poole Farm. See the MAPS page for directions.

This year's Fest will be the 47th occurrence of this great event so mark your calendars now and put in for your vacation early.

If your campsite has a website, let us know the address and we will post it on our Links page. Send your submission to: Pete Schechner at pschechner@verizon.net Be sure to check out the ones we have posted there already.

Until The Field Division Takes Over From Prefest For 2008

Hosted by SiteGadgets Free!

Vehicular Camping
Vehicular Camping Division of the Camping Committee is run by Stephen Gregg. Stephen and his volunteers shoe horn every possible Camper, Pop Up and other uniquely Folk Fest type of camping vehicle into the Campground that wants to be there. If they want to stay on the Triangele, they do that to!

Any campers bringing in Propane tanks for cooking or heat have them checked and cerified prior to arrival on site;

Any Vehicular Camping vehicles have both a working fire extinguisher and working smoke detector in their vehicle while they are on site.

The check and certification can be done anywhere propane is actually sold, and not just exchanged. The second are relatively inexpensive and can be found anywhere hardware is sold. They do make models specifically for RV's, but any kind will do.

Joke Of The Month
Fun Stuff
Note about Joke of the Month. I finally got another one I could print. I get a lot of submissions but they need to be clean and not links to another website. Thank you for your sense of humor!

Pete

I received this one on a Sunday too!
A southern Baptist minister was completing a temperance sermon.
With great emphasis he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take
it and pour it into the river."
With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the
world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."
And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he said, "And if I had all
the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."
Sermon complete, he sat down.

The song leader stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, nearly
laughing,

"For our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365, "Shall We Gather at the
River."

The Previous Submission
A woman walks into a drug store and asks the druggist for some arsenic. The druggist asks "Ma'am, what do you want with arsenic?".

She replies, "To kill my husband."

"I'm sorry Ma'am, I can't sell you any for that reason." the druggist tells her.

The woman then hands him a photo of a man and a women in a compromising position. The man is her husband and the woman is the druggist's wife. The druggist looks at the photo and says, "My apologies, I didn't realize you had a prescription."

Heard a good joke lately? As long as it is good for all ages, send it in. Click on the Mailbox image below and put Joke in the subject line. If our panel of idiots approves, we will share it with all. We will print your first name and Division underneathe the joke.
