Camp Iyataka - Sioux Council, BSA: Welcome

Iyataka Sign2
Camp Iyataka, located on the western shore of Big Stone Lake in Northeast South Dakota, was originally the summer camp of the old Pheasant Council, from its dedication in 1943 until the mid-seventies.

The Gail Ann Hauk Winter Camping Lodge, has transformed the 98-acre facility into a year-round Scouting reserve for use by Scout units throughout the Council.

The camp, in addition to offering both developed and primitive camping areas, features a modern lodge facility for year-round Troop and Pack outings and activities.

The camp is an ideal venue for Scout and Scouter training, as well as a stopover location for out-of-council units traveling to and from BSA National High Adventure Bases, and long term summer camps.
