Equipment

What should I bring to Practice?
Mandatory Equipment:
Baseball is a simple game and the only thing your child needs to play and practice is a Baseball Glove
and a filled water bottle or sports drink.   Bats, Helmets and balls are provided by the league.  Please have your child dress appropriately for practice in baseball pants or sweat pants.

Recommended:
Cleated Shoes:
are recommended as the fields can sometimes get sloppy,
sneakers are ok as well.
Batting Helmet:  Four helmets are supplied by the league but we recommend each player purchase his own helmet for sanitary and sizing reasons.
Protective Cup: an athletic cup and supporter is MANDATORY for all players who wish to play catcher.
Bat: Your child will probably want his or her own bat. Must be 2- 1/4 inch Diameter and  League approved. Good rule of thumb is bat can be swung comfortably with one hand and can be balanced like a sword in one hand.
Equipment Bag: A good place to try and teach Little Leaguers to keep their stuff. It can usually be found on the ground in the dugout after game with nothing in it.

This list should serve as  a general guideline, please consult your coach for specific requirements.

Your child is welcome to bring other equipment as well, please be sure all bats and equipment are  League or T-ball approved.

Baseball Division Descriptions T-Ball (5 & 6 years old): Designed to ease beginning players into the game of baseball. Players learn the basic fundamentals of throwing, catching and hitting. Games are an hour long, and every player bats and plays in the field each inning. Players hit a soft, cloth-covered ball (Incrediball) from a hitting tee. Game scores are not recorded.

Machine Pitch (7 & 8 years old): These players are learning the fundamentals of the game. Coaches use a machine to pitch to their players and are allowed in the field during the game to assist players in their defensive assignments. The game is played like normal baseball (3 outs or bat a side) with the exception of the Pitching machine. The pitching machine allows coaches to pitch the ball almost exactly at the same location on every pitch making it easier to learn to hit. Coaches will move players around defensively to give all players a feel for the various positions. Catchers are used to receive the pitch from the machine. Game scores are recorded.

Minors (9 & 10 years old): Players in this league should know the fundamentals of the game. Coaches begin assigning player's positions, but each player is given the opportunity to play most defensive positions during league play. Player's pitch to the batters, and stealing and bunting are introduced at this level. Teams are formed by the coaches working together to form teams of equal strength.

Majors (11 & 12 years old): As an advanced division to Minors, the participants are playing at a more competitive level. Players who are 9 and 10 years old are eligible to try out for this league, but must be selected by a Manager to "play up". Teams are formed by the coaches working together to form teams of equal strength.
