Frequently Asked Questions

When does Registration happen?

You can register your son/daughter in a variety of ways. Registrations are taken during a couple of weekends in February.(You can also check the Daily Jeffersonian "Sports Briefs section"early January for dates and locations.). Registration deadline is March 1st. Forms received after this time may be wait-listed.

What happens after I register my child?

During the late part of February, Coaches for the teams  will be chosen. We are always looking for new Coaches. Please consider coaching your son/daughter! .

When are teams formed?

A  team's roster has to be declared by April 1st. If your son/daughter is interested in trying out for a Minors and Majors, they will need to attend the scheduled tryouts. Tryouts are held in mid March.

T-Ball, Coach Pitch Teams will be formed in late March.

Major and Minor coaches hold their evaluations (try-outs) in the middle of March and then make up their teams in the days following the evaluation session. It is important your child attend to ensure your child's skills are assessed properly, and the teams are balanced fairly. If you haven't heard from a coach by April 1st, please contact  us.

Can I request that my son/daughter play "up"or "down" a division?

Yes, but all requests must be made in writing to the President.  He/she will then be responsible for making an evaluation which determines whether or not it is in the best interest of the player to move up a division. Please remember to register your son/daughter in the proper division according to their age. You will be contacted if a move is to take place.

How is a Player's Age Determined?

The league age determination date is the age a player has attained as of a specific date, for the purpose of placing the player in a particular division. The old date in the baseball and softball divisions of little League was July 31.
Starting with the 2006 season, the date in all divisions of Little League Baseball will be April 30 of the current year/season.

Can I ask that my child be placed on the same team as his/her friends?

While we understand that children like to play with their friends, we simply cannot make any promises. We will consider requests, but ask that parents understand that in order to make all the teams as balanced as possible, we may not be able to grant all requests.

What night does my child play?

T-ball will  play two games a week between Wed. and Saturday.

Coach Pitch play two games a week. Wed. and Saturdays.

Minors play Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Majors play Monday, Thursday, and Saturday

Practices
for all  leagues can be scheduled during the week and Saturdays.

Do I need to complete a registration form every year?

Yes. For Insurance purposes, we need a parent/guardian's signature annually.

How do I report a problem or complaint?

If you have a problem or complaint please contact one of the Board Members

How do I obtain a refund?

You must request a refund in writing from the President or other Board Member.  A refund will be subject to approval by the Board. A check, less a $10 administrative fee, will be mailed to you by our Treasurer. Refunds will be issued on a pro-rated basis, unless extenuating circumstances exist. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for your refund to be processed. The charge for NSF checks is $25.

How do I become a volunteer?

We are always in need of volunteers to assist in the running of the League. Please consider helping out so that the League can continue to exist for your children. Contact us via e-mail for more details.

How do I get more information?

Before contacting a member of the organizing committee, you should peruse our Web site which contains lots of relevant information, for example, regarding registration, sponsorship, and volunteering  Programs. There are also many links from us to other baseball sites. Our Web site is updated regularly, so please refer to it often throughout the season, for schedules and standings, for example.
