Cal Thunder '97 Philosophy
We will not practice during the week but expects kids to work on their own, take lessons (pitching/batting/conditioning), and finish all schoolwork. We will practice at Mesa Robles School in Hacienda Heights. On weekends we will practice and/or have friendlies and have one weekend off a month in the fall as well as 4-6 weeks off at Christmas, we will carry 12-14 girls on the team depending on each individual circumstance. We will bat ALL players in every friendly and rotate the defense. The top players who are performing at their positions will play in tournament games. Everyone must earn their positions and nothing is guaranteed. There will be an open door policy with our coaching staff at any time before/after practices or 24 hours after a game. We plan to spend one year in 12U and move the team to 14's next season.
We believe in family first, education, and then softball. We have players that play multiple sports and we encourage that. So, we will work with both schedules. Our goals as a coaching staff are to have fun, make sure every player gets better, and communicate effectively to make all players enjoy the sport of softball.
