First step on the Road to Williamsport and the Little League World Series
Welcome to California District 38, where everyone makes a team and everyone plays. We offer Baseball, Softball and Challenger Programs for children ages 4 to 18. No one cares more about your child than we do. If your childs dream is to play in the Little League World Series then they must play Little League Baseball. There are other programs but most end at the completion of the regular season. District 38 competed in 33 post season tournaments this year, with most of our players competing in at least one of them. The road to Williamsport is a long one that starts at the League and District level and advances to Section, Division, Region and then to Williamsport. Good Luck and have a safe, fun and rewarding season.

Little League® International has long been committed to the safety of its players, families, and volunteers, both on and off the field. To that end, all local Little League programs in the United States are required to conduct national criminal background checks, in addition to a search of the Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, for each volunteer with regular service to the league or repetitive access to children.
For many years, Little League International has paid for the first 125 free background checks for each local league and district. Effec tive immediately, those 125 free checks will be available through a new provider, J.D. Palantine (JDP), which has access to more than 450 million records, which include criminal records and sex offender registry records across 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Each league will continue to receive a total of 125 free background checks that are available through either JDP or First Advantage, or a combination of the two companies. Leagues and districts will only be able to utilize First Advantage for free background checks until March 1, 2018. Thereafter, all background checks conducted through First Advantage will cost $1.20 per check. Those Leagues and districts which have completed its required checks for the 2018 season through First Advantage do NOT need to submit new checks through JDP.
Visit JDP.com/LittleLeague to get started.

California law mandates that all coaches must receive training on concussions. The training may be fulfilled through the free, online course available through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). All managers, coaches, team moms and others who will be working with the team are required to complete this course prior to beginning practice with their teams.
Click the link below, then click on the Order Course button under the Concussion in Sports headline. You will have to register using your email address, and after a somewhat involved registration process can eventually order the training course.
Upon completion of the course download and print the certificate of completion. The certificate of completion should be available for Little League officials for various events.
Additionally, on a yearly basis, a concussion and head injury information sheet shall be signed and returned by the athlete's parent or guardian before the athlete's initiating practice or competition. The following documents are provided to meet this requirement:
Safety class certifications are good for three years, i.e if you attended class in 2016 your certification is valid for 2018. If your certificate is from a year prior to 2016 then it is no longer valid. Rosters of the Saftey Classes conducted by District 38 in 2016, 2017 and 2018 can be viewed in the Handouts section.

The Safety Class rosters have been added to the Safety Class section in Handouts. Remember that Safety Class certifications are only good for three years! If your card has expired you must attend another class to refresh & update your knowledge. Upon completion you will be issued another 3 year card.
Thanks to all of you that took the time to put our players first. With Safety First in our District it is great to see this kind of turn out. This coupled with the 356 from last year and the 374 from the year before puts over 1000 of our volunteers trained and ready to protect our players. You not only make it safer for our players but help keep the insurance costs down for your League and District.
A GREAT BIG THANK-YOU TO ALL
