First step on the Road to Williamsport and the Little League World Series Welcome to California District 38, where everyone makes a team and everyone plays. We offer Baseball, Softball and Challenger Programs for children ages 4 1/2 to 19. No one cares more about your child than we do. If your childs dream is to play in the Little League World Series then they must play Little League Baseball. There are other programs but most end at the completion of the regular season. District 38 competed in 30 post season tournaments this year, with most of our players competing in at least one of them. The road to Williamsport is a long one that starts at the District level and advances to Section, Division, Region and then to Williamsport. Good Luck and have a safe, fun and rewarding season. Now lets not let down, make sure the plans are implemented. Remember Little League means Safety - Fun - Sportsmanship. Volunteer Background Check's Mandatory All volunteers will have to complete a background check. There will be no exceptions! Background checks are required by Little League Baseball, Inc., as part of the league charter. Just one more way Little League Baseball leads all others in keeping their programs safe for the children. Friday, January 11 Link for ChoicePoint for background checks Use this link to obtain mandatory background checks from ChoicePoint Saturday, June 9 KICK AWAY BASES Riddell has a set of 3 Kick Away Bases with the posts and plugs for less than $100. They can deliver in 2-3 weeks. They look great to me and I think they will last longer than most of the ones I have seen. You can contact Brad @ bross@riddellsales.com or 760/703-8213 Sunday, June 10 Dangling Throat Guards - Here's Why... Tampa Bay catcher Dioner Navarro was struck in the throat by a pitch in the sixth inning during a game with the Florida Marlins Friday night. The pitch from Brian Stokes bounced short of the plate and struck Navarro underneath his mask. Trainers, and later paramedics, went to Mr. Navarro's aid. They eventually strapped him to a backboard and transported him to a hospital. Please notice that Mr. Navarro WAS NOT using a throat guard!!! A video of the incident is available here Challenger Program (For Players With Special Needs) If your child has any friends that would like to play, please let me know and I will get some flyers to you!! Have them contact Orlando @ 562/607-1095 or "oeg572@yahoo.com". We are looking forward to another great season, and plan on attending another Angel game! Friday, January 5 The Little League Pitch Count Regulation Guide The Little League Pitch Count Regulation is now in effect.
