How does my daughter play for the Lady Spartans AAU program?
Register and come to tryouts. The Lady Spartans hold open tryouts in September and March for any interested girl. No player is guaranteed a spot on the team. All players are encouraged to make each tryout so coaches can fairly evaluate them.

Tryouts for the 2007 Fall AAU season will be as follows:

Sept 9th, 5-7pm at Triple Threat Sports in Battle Creek

Cost: $20, this covers AAU membership and gym rental. This is in additional to the team fee if you daughter makes a team.

Tryouts for the 2008 Spring Season will be:

March

How many teams are there?
We will determine the amount of teams based on the amount of girls trying out.

How is the age determined?
The age as of January 1, 2008 is the age group for that player or by grade level. An athlete may play up a division but may not play down a division and still participate in the state tournament.

What is involved in the commitment to a Lady Spartan team?
It is expected that a player will make all the games and practices. There are always conflicts that will arise (i.e. High school practice, games, church, etc..), however absences cause disruptions to the team and are unfair to the coaches and other players. Communication with the coach is crucial in minimizing these disruptions.

Tuesday, September 4
What about the time involved?
Teams will practice twice per week for the most part. Each team will play at least 20 games, mainly on Sundays but may have some Fridays and Saturdays.

What's the cost?
