Calgary Titans AAA Hockey Club: Welcome

The Calgary TITANS is a AAA hockey program initiated in 2002 for players born in 1990. It was the goal of the program to develop the skills of the participants over a two year period, while they get to meet new friends and to enjoy the experience of playing in elite level AAA tournaments. The players on our team were selected from hockey programs from Calgary, Lethbridge, Cochrane, Red Deer and Foremost, Alberta.

The team operated in the 2002 & 2003 Spring Seasons, attending 5 tournaments.

Wednesday, July 23
Brett Switzer named as Assistant Captain on Bentley"Falcons" for 2014-15 Season

After a stellar season where Brett was in the top 20 in scoring in the Atlantic Conference, he is named as an Assistant Captain for 2014-15. He joins fellow Calgarian Alex Grieve, who will serve as Captain of the team.

Congratulations again, Brett!!!

Ben Lake named as Assistant Captain for Sacred Heart "Pioneers" for 2014-15 Season

After a season where the "Pioneers" won 10 more games than in 2012-13, Ben is rewarded with the Assistant Captain position for next season.

Brett Swittzer named to Atlantic Conference "All Academic" team for third consecutive year

After a great 2013-14 season where Bentley College were one of the best teams in the Atlantic Conference, Brett is named to the "All Academic" team again.

Joe Colborne inks 2 year deal with "Flames"

Congratulations to Joe, as he signs a 2 year deal with the Calgary "Flames".

After a solid year where Joe played a full NHL season for the "Flames", he is rewarded with a two year contract .

Joe, along with Tyler Myers and Matt Fraser is one of three "Titans" Alumni, that played in the NHL in the 2013-14 season.

Justin Dowling part of Calder Cup winning team!!!

Congratulations to Justin and the Texas "Stars", as they win the AHL championship.

After being taken to 7 games by the Toronto "Marlies" in the Western Finals, the "Stars" took the best of 7 championship series against the St.John's "Ice Caps" by a score of 4 games to 1.

This is truly a remarkable achievement - it was only the Texas "Stars", the St.John's "Ice Caps", the New York "Rangers" and the Stanley Cup winning LA "Kings" who were still playing hockey in mid-June!!!

Justin Dowling nets 3 points as Texas "Stars" advance to Calder Cup Finals

In his return from injury, Justin bagged a goal and 2 assists, as the "Stars" knocked off the "Marlies", in game 7 of the Calder Cup Western Conference Finals.

Congratulations Justin and good luck against St John's "Ice Caps" in the Finals, which begin on June 8th.

Justin Dowling and Andrew MacWilliam facing each other in Calder Cup Semi-Finals

Titan's Alumni Andrew (Toronto "Marlies") and Justin (Texas "Stars") have started the best of 7 series for the right to compete in the Calder Cup Finals.

The series, which is tied at 2 games each, now moves to Toronto for game 5 on Sat 31st May.

Joe Colborne wins inaugural Media "Good Guy" award

After his first full NHL season (played in 80 games), Joe has been recognized for his approachable demeanour by the Calgary media.

Monday, May 12
Brett Switzer scores OT winner in Atlantic Hockey Quarter Final

Brett scored just 40 seconds into OT in the first game of a best of 3 against Canisius.

He also scored the following night in game 2, this time in a losing cause. Bentley's season came to an end in game 3, as Canisius won 3-2, and moved onto the Atlantic Hockey Semi Finals.

Tyler Myers named to mens senior team at 2014 IHHF World Championships

Congratulations to Tyler as he is wearing the Maple Leaf again.

Matt Fraser scores OT winner to tie Bruins - Canadians series 2-2

Matt scored his first NHL playoff goal tonight. What a goal it was!!

The Bruins have now captured the momentum, as the series moves back to Boston for game 5.

Marlies move to next round of play-offs after big Andrew MacWilliam hit!!!

Andrew made his mark in his comeback from a concussion. Steve Spott the coach of the Marlies felt that Andrew's hit was the turning point in the game that saw the Marlies sweep the Milwaukee "Admirals" in the first round of the Calder Cup play-offs.

Camrose "Kodiaks" retire Joe Colborne's Jersey Number

In recognition of his contribution to the "Kodiaks" organisation, Joe's jersey number has been retired.

Congratulations Joe, and good luck in the balance of the NHL season.

Joe Colborne scores winning SO goal against "The Blues"

Joe scored the only goal of the shoot out for the Calgary "Flames" against the St. Louis "Blues".

This win stopped a 3 game winless streak for the Flames, going in to the Christmas break.

Jake DeSerres 2nd in CIS in GAA at Christmas Break

Congratulations to goalie Jake as he is second in GAA at 1.5 and 3rd in Save Percentage at 0.941 .

Jake has played 10 (won 9) of 15 games to date for the Canada West leading Calgary "Dinos".

Brett Switzer scores a pair including the Game Winner against Air Force

Congratulations to Brett as he scores two goals in Atalantic Conference play against Air Force.

Bentley College came away with a win and a tie against Air Force on the long road trip to Colorado Springs, CO .
