As a result of this exposure past participating players from our program are presently playing at the collegiate and pro baseball levels. JOEL ZUMAYA CONTINUES TO SHINE WITH DETROIT TIGERS!!!
Joel (JJ) Zumaya got off to a good start in his second season with the Detroit Tigers after enjoying a great rookie season capped by a trip to and appearances in the World Series. JJ was drafted by the Tigers right out of high school and is in his 5th year at the professional level. JJ is a great young man, a graduate of and a member of the Arsenal Baseball family. We wish JJ best of luck in his re-cuperation from ruptured tendon surgury of his right middle finger. JJ suffered the injury warming up in the bullpen at Kauffman Stadium back in early may. Zumaya will be back pitching with the Tigers in an estimated 12 weeks from the May 10th surgery.
