2009 Tournament of Champions
The 2009 Tournament Of Champions is in the books. In the 7/8 year-old division, Chula Vista American came from behind, plating 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to overtake Eastlake and hang on for a 6-5 triumph. In the Minors division, Eastlake outlasted Park View to win 9-6. Last, but not least, in the Majors division, Eastlake held off a late rally by Park View to capture an 8-3 victory. The Minors Softball T.O.C. Champions were crowned on Saturday, as the South Bay team came back to score five runs in the bottom of the sixth to claim the title over Luckie Waller. Congratulations to South Bay, Chula Vista American, and Eastlake for winning championships, and to Luckie Waller, Eastlake and Park View for advancing all the way to the title games. We would also like to thank all the other Leagues for participating, along with all the many volunteers who helped out to make this all possible. You can go to the Handouts page to view the final brackets. Next up are the District 42 Tournaments, the first leg on the road to the World Series!

Recruit and Train Volunteer Umpires for your League!!
Every year, Little Leagues are scrambling to find volunteers to help with the task of running a local Little League program. At District 42, we offer you the tools to help make the job a little easier. We hold scorekeeper clinics, umpire clinics, rules clinics, and offer training and advice to make your Leagues run as smooth as possible. At our January League Volunteer meeting, we will be showing a PowerPoint presentation to help you recruit and train volunteer umpires for the upcoming season, and beyond. Our League Volunteer meetings are open to ALL Board members from the local Leagues in our District, and ALL Board members are encouraged to attend. In the event you can't make it to our January meeting, or just want to download the presentation for later viewing, click here.
You must have Microsoft® PowerPoint, or a PowerPoint viewer to view this presentation.
PLAY BALL!
All District 42 Leagues are required to review and update their Constitutions every two (2) years. Please send three (3) copies to Western Region for approval. You will receive a copy back after it has been approved. Little League has provided a sample constitution to help you out, if needed. The sample is located on the Handouts Page, in the Little League Forms section.
Also, don't forget that your By-Laws, and Supplemental, Local, or Ground Rules, whichever name you call them, must be reviewed, updated, and approved by your Board of Directors EVERY year. The documents listed above must be approved by the District Administrator and his staff before your games begin.
