Born and raised in Draper, Utah, Coach Kimball learned how to skate and play hockey on his best friend's pond and taking tips from some of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles' players he got to practice with on occasion. He played for Alta High and UVSC's hockey team as Assistant Captain several years ago.
Prior to coming to the Cougars, Coach Kimball was head coach for Alta High's hockey team for 8 years. Now into his third year with the team, he has the added responsibility of being the team's General Manager.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at UVSC and is currently a software developer on the NTS Information Technology Tools Team at Novell.
Doug, a life-long fan of BYU sports, is looking forward to continue working with the Cougars and in keeping and building upon the great reputation that BYU has for athletics in conduct and skill, and that it is an honor to be recognized as the BYU Cougars.
