About BYC Lacrosse

BYC has been serving the youth of Chester Heights Borough, Bethel Township, Concord Township, Chadds Ford and Thornbury Townships in Western Delaware County since 1955.

But boys' lacrosse is a recent addition, having been added in 2001.  From a few dozen boys, the program has grown to over 300 players in programs from U-7 (5-6 year olds) to U-15 (13-14 year olds), with U-11, U-13 and U-15 participating in Chester County Lacrosse Association (CCLA) Travel Teams.

With dedicated coaches and hard-working, talented athletes that share a love for the fastest game on two feet, the BYC Lacrosse program has had many successes since its inception.  BYC teams have made playoffs and won championships.  BYC players have gone on to successful lacrosse careers at the high school, college, NCAA Division I, II, and III, and recreational club level.

But first and foremost our players, coaches and families have had FUN learning and enjoying lacrosse and the sportsmanship, camraderie and hard work that surround the sport.

For Spring 2008, BYC will offer the following programs:

  • Under 7 – Clinic-based intramural program introducing the FUNdamentals of Lacrosse to our youngest players.
  • Under 9 – Team-based intramural program focused on fundamentals of the game, but including game play.
  • Under 11 – Several equal strength travel teams participating in CCLA regular season and possibly some tournaments and club play dates.
  • Under 13 – Several leveled (A, B, C) travel teams participating in CCLA regular season, play-offs, and one or more local or overnight travel tournaments.
  • Under 15 - Several leveled (A, B, C) travel teams participating in CCLA regular season, play-offs, and one or more local or overnight travel tournaments.

Participants must be below the age referenced in the program name as of January 1st of the year of participation.

In addition, BYC operates various off-season clinics and tournaments, including the Winter Indoor Skills Series started in November 2006.
