Ruth Sherrill Commits
HoopGurlz 3-star Ruth Sherrill is fifth commit at CAA school
Ruth Sherrill of Alexandria, VA, has committed to Hofstra University, according to her club coach, Stan Kinf of Cardinal AAU Basketball.
The 6-foot forward, rated a three-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, also considered East Carolina, Loyola (Md.), Penn and William & Mary.
Sherrill was an honorable-mention, All-Met selection by the Washington Post after her unior season at Thomas Edison (Alexandria, VA)

Hoopgurlz - No. 85 Kelila Atkinson picks the ACC
"Kelila chose Wake Forest because it fit her academically and the campus size was just right," her mother said in an email to ESPN HoopGurlz. "Being in the ACC gave Wake Forest a huge college feel without being lost in the student population. Also, the close proximity to home and the ability for more family to attend the games was a plus."
Atkinson, the 5-foot-10 wing from Woodbridge, Va., is the highest rated prospect to choose the Demon Deacons in the 2012 class to date with four stars. She joins 6-2 forward Candace Ball, a three-star prospect from Pulaski, Va., and 5-8 point guard Celina Rodrigo, a three-star prospect from Marietta, Ga.

Shianne Goodwin Commits to Furman University

3-star F Shianne Goodwin picks Southern Conference
The 6-foot-3 forward also considered North Carolina Greensboro, Radford and LaSalle.
Goodwin "was impressed with the academic resume of Furman and the coaching staff," according to Janice Atkinson of BWSL.
Rated a three-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, Goodwin made second-team, all-district after her junior season at Potomac (Dumfries, Va.).

Lexi Carpenter (2012) Commits to University of Dayton
Lexi is a rising Senior at Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, VA. An excellent combo-guard with an incredible shooting arsenal, Lexi has a very high basketball IQ. Dayton is going to enjoy the knowledge she has harvested playing againt the best in the DMV and nationally!
Hoopgurlz gives Lexi "Three-Stars" and reports the following:
Winter 2010-11: Crafty scorer who has improved her 3-point shot, she understands how to set up defenders and creat space. Solid defender with good footwork (Bodine)
She Got Game 09: Has the ability to score from anywhere on the floor, reads the defense well. As a very nice pull up jump shot. Very agile and well balanced when making moves to the basket. High energy player that plays hard through out the games.

Jones is the second player in the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100, joining No. 95 Kayla Montgomery from Power Springs, Ga., to commit to the Tigers, and with four-star post Nyilah Jamison-Myers from Orangeburg, S.C., the third overall. Clemson joins Connecticut, Notre Dame and Tennessee, with three commitments in the rising senior class.
