Bux Mont American Legion Baseball League
___________________________________________
WELCOME TO THE BUX MONT AMERICAN LEGION LEAGUE'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE !!
The Bux Mont American Legion Baseball League consists of eleven franchises in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, playing under the auspices of Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball.
The League is a member of Pennsylvania's Region 2, which also encompasses the Berks County, Schuylkill County, Lehigh County, and Northampton County Leagues. Each year, the Bux Mont League's tournament champion goes forward to compete in the eight-team Region 2 tournament, whose winner then competes for the state title.
Players usually range in age from 16 to 19, with most having completed their junior or senior years in high school or freshman or sophomore years in college. Players may not reach their twentieth birthday during the current calendar year ... there is no minimum age.
The League is governed by the eleven member clubs' representatives, as well as elected officers and a five-person Baseball Commission.

Warrington, Lansdale Revamp Territories
As a result of the latest US Census and new guidelines regarding population limits, Warrington has agreed to cede New Britain Township and New Britain Borough to the (Lansdale) Cannoneers club. This move – approved unanimously by the eleven member clubs at the League's December 4 special inter-season meeting – will (a) bring Warrington within the 50,000 limit and (b) bolster the struggling Cannoneers club. Warrington will retain New Britain players rostered in 2011. No other territorial changes were needed or proposed.
In other news and announcements coming out of the 12/4 meeting:
• Strict adherence to the National rule set will be enforced in 2012 ... that is, the League will not be permitted to use the re-entry and NFHS DH rules (but the American League's DH rule may be used). Games may still be seven innings. To what extent League players may wear jewlery will be decided upon at the next League meeting.
• It was revealed that Kevin Manero will be inducted into the Pennsylvania American Legion Hall of Fame in August. Kevin was recently named head coach of the North Penn H.S. team, and has relinquished his Nor-Gwyn field manager's duties to former assistant Kevin Harris.
• Beginning with the 2013 season, only wood bats will permitted in Pennsylvania. For 2012, metal bats labeled "BBCOR" (as well as wood) may be used.
• Henceforth, club-to-club player waivers will be valid for ony one season
• Our League will send two teams to the 2012 Region 2 Tournament at West Lawn. The state tourney will be at Boyertown.

Certain Composite Bats Declared Illegal for 2011
Just prior to the start of the 2011 Bux Mont season, the American Legion National Office notified the states (which passed the word along to each league) that certain composite bats will be declared illegal for the season. Specifically, composite bats not bearing the stamp BBCOR, are illegal ... they almost always bear the word "Composite" or "Comp" on their barrels.
To be even more specific, it has been decided that "non-BBCOR" DeMarini bats are illegal, despite the fact that they do not actually bear the word "Composite".
Umpires are instructed to inspect bats and other safety equipment prior to each game; however, this does not relieve teams from their responsibility to use legal equipment, especially bats and helmets.
