Butler Mighty Mites
We are excited to be under way in the 2007 season of the Optimist Youth Football League. This league has produced many stars over the years that have gone on to play NCAA Division I Football. This is the most competitive league around.
We are approaching our final regular season game against the West End Yellow Jackets. We strive to get better every day, every practice and the kids have responded well. We are currently 5-3 and in great position to grab a playoff spot.

Wow! What a game against the Highview Mustangs on Homecoming. We were definitely hitting on all cylinders, scoring on every offensive possession.
RB Trevon Davidson scored on our first play from scrimmage, going 79 yards untouched for our first score. RB Tremaine Pendleton ran in the extra point to go up 7-0. On our second possession Pendleton had a 55 yard TD run to put us up 13-0. The PAT came up short as Davidson's pass to WR Devin Pendegrass fell incomplete.
Going into the second half we picked up right where we left off. We drove the ball down the field setting up Davidson's 2nd TD run of the day. This one went for 35 yards and put the game out of reach 18-0.
Our defense did an excellent job all day shutting down the Mustangs. LB Noah Thompson, DT's Jared South and Damorean Travis, and DE Mika Wheeler played exceptional. All recorded multiple solo tackles and collaborated on many more.
We were excited for all of our guys to get a chance to play. The 2nd team offensive line did a great job blocking on our final possession as QB Michael Hopper called his own number on a bootleg and ran 62 yards for our final TD.
Our 2nd team defense came in with the same intensity and held Highview scoreless in their final drive. This was a total team effort and a great 25-0 win.
I'm sure I speak for all the parents and fans when I say I am so proud of this team. Their hardwork and dedication is paying off. We have come so far...but we aren't done yet!
Great job Butler! Time to get back down to business and focus on West End.
Can't wait till this Saturday!
Remember team....play hard or go home.
ps
Thanks to all of the parents for their hardwork and support making this Homecoming something special!
