  Luke Murphy

Luke Murphy "Murph"
Position: Coach
Profile: Coach Murphy established himself as one of the most prolific players in Butler Baseball history throughout his four year career. After struggling his freshman season, Luke turned into an animal in the weight room and became one of the most feared hitters in the MCC. He holds the single season record for most sacrafice bunts in a season and never hesitated to dive for a ball in the outfield. Coach Murph is currently the most available of all the Butler Baseball coaches, but maybe not for long. Many emails come in each day requesting dates with Murph, so we may start selling raffle tickets for the privledge. Here is some more about the "Roncalli Renegade".

-Coach Murph was named Butler Student Athlete of the week on April 1, 1999
"Murphy hit .533 in five games at the Akron Invitational over the weekend, including a double and two triples. Murphy extended his career-best hitting streak to 11 games. His performance earned him a spot on the all-tourney team. On the season, Murphy is hitting.393 with six doubles and two triples for the Bulldogs."

"The best opposite field hitter since Tony Gwynn" -Eric Storey
