Welcome to our website!
The BYL is a volunteer organization offering recreational based program that is more than 30 years old. We provide baseball, softball, and other programs for young people in our community. Teams are divided equally, using a standard system. We will host the following tournaments this year in conjunction with other Rec leagues in the area and the Geauga Co. PAL;.
For 2011 we have opted to drop the 2011 MAPLE LEAF-EAST NSA TOURNAMENT originally scheduled for June 18-19th 2011. We hope to pick this tournament up again in 2012.
Sports for the Community of Burton, OH.
In 2006 we entered into the Police Athletic League (GPAL) program in conjunction with the other community based Youth Leagues from the Geauga Youth Baseball and Sotball Association. This afflilation with the Geauga County Sheriff's Department enables us to continue to expand out programs.
Our fields at the Geauga County Fairgrounds, are in continuing renovation and we have made several improvements to the fields and storage facilities ovet the past two years. We would appreciate any help in the form of labor, material or financial donations you would care to make. Please contact Bob Himmelein by e-mail (arabayarjh@sbcglobal.net) or Matt Squire at 440-834-0389 if you can provide any assistance.
In 2008, the BYL, began it's affiliation withe Ohio Hot Stove Baseball, along with the Claridon, Troy, Huntsburg and Pakrman Youth Leagues as well as the Village of Middlefield and Newbury Rec Board. These same commnities also joined the Ohio Girls Fastpitch Association in 2008 as we sought as a group to continue to improve the programs for our participants.
