Mick Bildy - Head Coach
A well respected coach who has enriched the lives of many swimmers, Mick Blidy has been involved in just about every aspect of the Burbank Stingrays. He started as a proud, supportive parent, to being the BSA Treasurer, and finally became Head Coach, leading the team from 1998 to 2004. In his six years as head coach, the Stingrays advanced 3 divisions, from White to Red to Blue. He has coached swimmers who qualified for the Junior Olympics as well as others who have continued to swim at the collegiate level.
Coach Blidy’s broad knowledge of swimming techniques enables him to work with swimmers of all ages and competitive levels. His belief is once you make learning fun, the kids forget about practice being actual work. This approach results in enhanced performance and a keen love for the sport, and ensures the kids will succeed. Coach Blidy is happy to be part of the Stingrays again, and is looking forward to coaching a whole new generation of swimmers!
