2007 JUNIOR VARSITY

4/27 - LP JV won Friday April 27th against the Dobie Longhorns to win the district title. La Porte won the game 4-0. JV Dogs battled for a 4-0 win Friday afternoon before the Varsity Game for their Final Game of the season. Dillon Pitts pitched all seven innings only giving 4 hits and striking out eight. Dillion ended the season with a 6-1 record and his 3rd complete game of the year. The Bulldogs collected big hits from Keith Sexton, Aaron Spaugh, Kodi Wright, Bradley Brown, Jordan Hall & Chris Armstrong. The Dogs had win streaks of 4 games, 5 games, and a two game win streak to end the season. The Bulldogs end the season with a 17-5-2 record overall and 10-1-1 in district play

4/24 - LP JV baseballers win big over Sam Rayburn 13-3. The Dogs had good pitching from Aaron Spaugh and Richard Munoz. The LP bats struggled at first, but by the fifth inning the LP bats came alive. Chris Armstrong and Kodi Wright had key hits in the game. Keith Sexton had a three run home run in the game. The Bulldogs move to 16-5-2 on the season and 9-1-1 in district play.

4/20 - La Porte JV baseballers lost to Deer Park 7-5. Junior Reed got the first hit of the game in the fifth inning when the score was 6-0. C.J. Jarvis had a two run home run in the game to make the score 6-3. Dillion Pitts got the loss. The Bulldogs move to 15-5-2 on the season and 8-1-1 in district play.

4/16 - LP JV baseballers win 6-5 over Pasadena Memorial on Monday. Kodi Wright earned the win. He went 4 innings giving up one earned run and striking out 6. Richard Munoz set-up with two innings pitched giving up three runs. Then Dillion Pitts came in the last inning to get the save going three up and three down, striking out two batters. Junior Reed had two RBI's and Keith Sexton and Garrett Vest both had one RBI. C.J. Jarvis had three hits and scored a run. The Bulldogs move to 15-4-2 on the season and 8-0-1 in district play. The La Porte JV Bulldogs will play Deer Park at home on Friday April 20th.

4/10 - The La Porte JV baseball team won against Northshore 5-0. Dillion Pitts pitched a complete game shut out giving up only one hit. Junior Reed had two big hits and produced 3 RBI's. The Bulldogs move to 7-0-1 in district and 14-4-2 overall.

4/5 - La Porte win 6-4 over South Houston at the Pasadena Sports complex. Richard Munoz was the winning pitcher and Dillion Pitts got the save. Keith Sexton, Aaron Spaugh, and Chris Armstrong added key hits to help the Bulldogs pull out the win. The win moves the Bulldogs to 6-0-1 in district and 13-4-2 on the year.

Feb 20 - "The La Porte JV Baseball team play hard, but come up short against Klein Oak on Monday Feb. 20. The Bulldogs started off by giving up two runs in the first inning. Then in the bottom half of the inning, Blake Marchal led off with a base hit. Marchal moved up to second on a pass ball. He then moved to third on a balk and scored on a sacrifice fly hit by Diego Navar. The game was 2-1 till the sixth inning, when Klein Oak scored base hit with a runner on third who got there by an error. Then Klein Oak added another run in the seventh inning. The Bulldog JV was limited to 2 hits for the game and is 0-1 for the season."
Baytown Sterling 7 - LPJV 7
Feb 23 - "La Porte jv tied Baytown Sterling 7-7 after going in to a tie breaker that still ended up with the two teams still locked in a tie. The game ended up being settled by a coin flip. Aaron Spaugh pitched well, but fatigue set in and Justin Carnes came in for relief. The offense was led by Jonathan Watson with two hits."
Cy Falls 15 - LPJV 0
Feb 23 - "On Feb. 23, the JV lost 15-0 to Cy Falls in a game filled with many errors. The Bulldogs only gave up five hits, but had four errors and allowing numerous walks and hit by pitches. The Bulldogs were limited to only one hit that came in the 5th inning by Aaron Spaugh. The loss leaves the Bulldogs at 0-2-1 for the season."
LPJV 11 - Baytown Lee 4
Feb 24 - "On Feb. 24, La Porte had a strong game against Baytown Lee winning 11-4. Keith Sexton had a strong game at the plate going 5-5 with two triples. The team played well with some good defensive plays behind Ryan Roy."
The Woodlands 14 - LPJV 11
Feb 27 - "On Feb. 27, LP played The Woodlands at Scotland Yard. LP was consistinly close through out the three hour game. Pitcher Brennan Minter was strong for 3 innings only giving up four runs. Ryan Roy came in for two innings of relief with strong offens help from the entire line up. Hard hits from Sexton and Navar, and Matt Adams stealing home paced the Dogs. The Woodlands battled back taking the lead again when Matt Adams was brought in for the last two innings. The final score was 11-14 in the woodlands favor."
Alvin 9 - LPJV 5
Mar 2 - "La Porte played a tough game but came up short. Walks and key hits brought down the Bulldogs. La Porte was led by Blake Marchal offensively."
LPJV 6 - Dobie 2
Mar 3 - "March 3, LP JV beat the Dobie Longhorns 6-2. Brennan Minter pitched well and dominated the Dobie line-up. Lots of walks led to most of the Bulldog runs. Blake Marchal lead the team with some key hits."
Pearland 12 - LPJV 6
Mar 3 - "On March 3, LP JV loses 12-6 to Pearland. LP had some key errors and walks that led to a 9-0 lead after the first inning. The Bulldogs battled back but came up short. Steve Faust had two strong doubles in the game."
LPJV 13 - Alvin 12
Mar 7 - "The La Porte vs. Alvin game, on March 7, was a close win for La Porte. Ryan Roy threw a good game even though he gave up twelve runs. La Porte was down by two going into the last inning when Blake Marchal hit a run single to give La Porte the victory."
LPJV 4 - Santa Fe 2
Mar 10 - "LP JV wins a tight game in the Galveston Tournament against Santa Fe. LP had a strong offensive performance from Jeff Lovercheck. Brennan Minter and Aaron Spaugh kept the Santa Fe hitters off balance and gave up only two runs with a great defensive effort behind them."
LPJV 9 - Hightower 4
Mar 11 - "LP JV had a good performance against Fortbend Hightower. The Bulldogs were led by Jeremy Harris and Blake Marchal on offense. Michael WIndham pitched a great game and shut down the Hightower bats."

Mar 14 - "La Porte JV wins 5-3 over Northshoe with a great pitching performance from Ryan Roy. La Porte scored one run in the 1st inning on a Lovercheck sacrfice. La Porte scored four more in the fourth inning when Roy, Sexton, Harris, and Adams scored. The team was led by Keith Sexton, Blake Marchal, Steve Faust, and Ryan Roy hitting."
LPJV 12 - Pasadena Memorial 6
Mar 17 - "LP JV beats Pasadena Memorial 12-6. This was the first time to beat Pasadena Memorial in JV district play. The Bulldogs had a rocky start at the beginning of the game giving up 3 runs on two costly errors. After that the LP offense came alive led by the base running of Matt Adams and Blake Marchal stealing a combined 8 bases. Diego Navar, Keith Sexton, and Aaron Spaugh had key hits that led to big innings for the Bulldogs. Brennan Minter, Aaron Spaugh, and Blake Marchal pitched well and kept the Bulldogs in the game for the victory. The win leaves the Bulldogs with a 8-5-1 record."
LPJV 19 - Pasadena 5
Mar 21 - "The Bulldogs kept their six game win streak alive with a 19-5 win over the Pasadena Eagles. The pitching combination of Jeremy Harris, Michael Windham, and Matt Adams limited the Eagles to three hits and five runs. La Porte's offense was led by Ryan Roy with two hits and four stolen bases. Junior Reed also had a great night at the plate with three hits and three RBIs. Jeff Lovercheck also added two hits to the victory. Travis Otwell did a good job of handling the pitching staff behind the plate. The Bulldogs are now 9-5-1 for the season and host the Dobie Longhorns on Friday."

Mar 24 - "The Bulldogs put together timely hitting with good pitching to beat the Dobie Longhorns 4-1. Ryan Roy pitched six innings only allowing one hit, striking out nine, and only giving up one unearned run to get the win. Brennan Minter came in to pitch one inning in the seventh to close it out by striking out two and only giving up one hit to pick up the save. Ryan Roy also helped out his on cause by getting a two RBI single in the bottom of second inning with the bases loaded and two outs. An error on the hit also allowed another run to come across and Roy moved to third. Jeremy Harris tacked on another run with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth inning scoring Aaron Spaugh from first. The win moves the Bulldog JV to 4-0 on district and an overall record of 10-5-1 with an eight game win streak. The next game for the JV will be at 7 PM at Maguire versus Sam Rayburn."
LPJV 14 - Sam Rayburn 1
Mar 27 - "The JV Bulldogs were able to get fifteen hits and put up fourteen runs against the Sam Rayburn Texans on Monday night to move them to 5-0 in district play. The Bulldog pitching staff combined to only give up one run and two hits in seven innings of work. Brennan Minter started the game and went three, Michael Windham threw the next three, and Steve Faust closed them out in the seventh. The win moves Minter to 3-0 on the year. The Bulldog offense was led by Aaron Spaugh going 4-4 with 2 RBIs and scoring three times. Ryan Roy also had a strong game at the plate going 3-4 with two RBIs, scoring two runs, and stealing two bases. Jeff Lovercheck collected the only extra base hit of the day with a double coming in the seventh inning. Matt Adams also had two RBIs on two fielders choice plays with the bases loaded. The win moves the Bulldogs to 11-5-1 overall on the season, 5-0 in district 23-5a play, and stretching their win streak to 9 games. The JV Bulldogs will host the South Houston Trojans at 7 PM on Friday night March 31st."
LPJV 12 - South Houston 2
Mar 31 - "LP JV won their 10th in a row, by beating South Houston 12-2. The Bulldogs were paced by a strong offensive game. Chirs Belvin went 3-3 with 3 RBIs. Junior Reed also added three hits which included 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. Garrett Vest, Diego Navar, and Jeremy Harris had key hits in the victory. Ryan Roy started on the mound and pitched well through three innings of work. Brennan Minter came in for the last two innings of relief. The Bulldog pitching only gave up one hit and two runs. Ryan Roy moves to 4-1 on the year. The Bulldogs overall move to 12-5-1 and 6-0 in district."
Deer Park 5 - LPJV 4
Apr 4 - "LP JV's 10 game win streak was snapped by Deer Park on Tuesday losing 5-4. The Bulldogs had many opportunties to score, but only came up with three runs early in the early innings. The Deer came back with four runs in the fifth inning to go ahead. Brennan Minter pitched well the enitre game striking out 11 and giving up four unearned runs. LP JV will play at 7 at Northshore Friday April 4."

Apr 7 - "The La Porte Bulldogs Jr. Varsity lost 13-0 to the Northshore Mustangs. The LP JV was no-hit."
