Bull City Little League: Welcome

Skill Evaluations Update for Sunday

We will be at BCLL for Day 2 of skill evaluations today, from 2-4pm. Please be there no later than 2:45 to check in.

Four-, five- and six-year-olds do not need to attend.

12-year-olds also do not need to attend UNLESS they are new to the league.

If your child of any age is new to our league, please bring them today. If you have played in our league in the past and are comfortable using previous years' evaluation scores (i.e. you feel there hasn't been much change in skill level), you can opt out of skills today. We encourage you to come if you feel your child's level of play has increased since their last evaluation.

Even if your child does not go through evaluations today, we need you to drop off their medical release form, volunteer form and sign a Code of Conduct form at the fields.

We know it is cold and will work to get you all through evaluations quickly today. Bundle up and we'll see you at the fields!

Draft Scheduled for Feb. 21; Mandatory Managers/Coaches Meeting on Feb. 22

The Spring baseball and softball drafts will be held on Saturday, February 21st for all divisions. Times have yet to be determined, but we wanted to get this date on potential managers/coaches calendars.

There is a MANDATORY managers/coaches meeting and clinic on Sunday, February 22nd, from 1-3pm at BCLL. This will be followed by a mandatory safety meeting. These meetings are also open to all assistant coaches and parents in general. We encourage anyone interested in coaching or helping coach this season to attend these meetings. There will be a lot of helpful information shared.

We look forward to seeing you all as we kick off the new season!

Registration for Spring 2015 Season

Registration for the Spring Baseball and Softball Season is now open!

Baseball registration is $150; softball registration is $110. Skill evaluations will be held on February 14th and 15th. Registration will remain open online through February 13th. We encourage you to register by Wednesday, February 11 in order to have your child's name tag ready for skill evaluations. We will accept late registrations at skill evaluations, with a late fee of $25.

We have transitioned to a new online registration system. When you click the registration link, you will be prompted to search for your name (for returning players) or create a new account. Please follow the instructions to update your parent information, and all parents should create a user name and password for future use of the system. If you have any issues with registration, please email us at info@bullcitylittleleague.org. During the process, you will be prompted to download the medical release and volunteer forms. Please download, complete and bring with you to skill evaluations.

2015 BCLL Baseball & Softball Registration

Dick's Shop Day Set for Saturday, March 7th

BCLL is once again partnering with Dick's Sporting Goods in Brier Creek for 2015. Our community partnership with Dick's in 2014 was very successful for both parties. We are looking forward to another great year of partnering together.

The spring Shop Day for BCLL has been set for Saturday, March 7th. Click here for your coupon good for 20% off throughout the store (some exceptions apply). BCLL will have representatives on hand from 10am-2pm to help with any questions about gear or the league. Drafts will have taken place before Shop Day, and players should know what their team colors are. This is a great opportunity to get everything you need for spring baseball and softball!

Riverside High School Winter Hitting Camp Set For January 31

Riverside High School is hosting a Winter Hitting Camp on Saturday, January 31st from 10:30a-2pm. Participants will receive quality hitting instruction from 4A coaches. Cost of the camp is $50. You can download the brochure here and mail to Coach Doug Simmons, or sign up on the day of the camp.

NCCU Baseball First Pitch Dinner to be Held on January 31

The 4th Annual NCCU Baseball First Pitch Dinner and Silent Auction will be held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center on January 31st from 6-9pm.

The keynote speaker for this year's dinner is Carl Blake Willis, who was a member of the 1991 World Series Champion Minnesota Twins and was most recently the pitching coach for the Seattle Mariners.

Ticket prices and more information about the dinner are here. This is a great way to support Coach Jim Koerner, who is also involved with BCLL, and the NCCU baseball team.

New Dick's Sporting Goods Coupons Available

In 2014, Bull City Little League entered into a community partnership with Dick's Sporting Goods at Brier Creek. It was a very successful partnership for both parties, with Dick's providing us with equipment, being our primary sponsor for our Bat-a-thon fundraiser and hosting spring and fall shop days with coupons specifically for our league.

We will continue to partner with Dick's in the coming year. They have already provided us with new coupons that can be used now, and continue to be used through 2015. You can access the new coupons here. This is great for those of you who are still Christmas shopping for your ball player!

We'd like to thank Dick's Sporting Goods for their continued support of BCLL, and we look forward to another successful year working together!

Softball Clinic with UNC's Marissa Young a Success

On Saturday, November 22nd BCLL hosted a free pitching/catching softball clinic, featuring UNC Assistant Softball Coach Marissa Young.

About 50 girls took advantage of the chance to get great instruction from Young and had a lot of fun learning drills they can take home and practice during the offeseason.

BCLL gives a big thank you to UNC Softball and Marissa Young for helping our softball players grow and prepare for the spring.

BCLL General Meeting to be Held on Tuesday, Nov. 11

BCLL will hold a general board meeting on Tuesday, November 11th. We will meet at Andy Jones' State Farm office, located at 4519 N Roxboro St, Durham, NC, at 6pm. Please note the change in meeting time. Everyone is invited to attend.

BCLL Board of Directors for the 2015 Fiscal Year

BCLL's annual meeting was held Thursday evening, October 16th, at the Town & Country building across from the fields.  We had a great turnout of parents who were interested in learning more about the operation of the league and in contributing their talents to maintaining and improving BCLL.

Some existing members were elected to new positions, and several new members were elected to the Board.  We sincerely thank those persons who attended, we welcome our new Board members, and we particularly thank those individuals who have not joined the Board, but have agreed to assist the Board and to serve on Commitees to assist in the support and management of the league.
