Bull Bay defeated Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), 3-2, in the second-leg of the JNBS/KSAFA Super League semi-final to advance 6-3 on aggregate at the UWI Bowl yesterday.
Bull Bay now await the winners of the other semi-final between Boys' Town and Santos, which has been rescheduled to today at the Constant Spring Complex, starting at 3:30 pm.
The JDF came into the match with a 3-1 deficit, but pulled back an early goal through Tex Martin after just two minutes.
However, Demetrio Billet restored Bull Bay's two-goal advantage, while Asa McIntosh (49th) and Jermaine Taylor (53rd) added to the tally before Terrence Jarrett scored a second for the Soldiers in the 86th.
Winning coach Barrington Gaynor said his team was always confident they would progress: "We haven't lost a game all season and we want to keep that record until the end of the season, and that's what we came and did here today," he said.
"They scored a bit early, but it wasn't any concern because we have the confidence to come from behind because we've done it before," he added.
The match had barely got underway when Martin broke away and found the back of the net.
But Bull Bay came storming back and restored their two-goal margin when Billet shrugged off a challenge from Marco Beckford and shot past Luke Davis in the JDF goal.
Four minutes into the second half, Bull Bay went further ahead when McIntosh grabbed his 16th goal of the season, beating Davis with a well-placed grounder.
Taylor made it 3-1, and 6-2 on aggregate, when he acrobatically re-directed Jermaine Gardener's cross past Davis.
The Soldiers were not embarrassed as they had good opportunites to score, but Jarrett wasted three good headers, as did Mark Miller.
Four minutes from the end Jarrett rose above the Bull Bay defence to head home Mario Gordon's quick free kick.
JDF's coach Alverie Legister said Bull Bay were the better team: "We came out knowing we had to get early goals. We got the first goal after two minutes and were well on the way, but we did not put away the opportunities we created and Bull Bay outscored us," he said.
Meanwhile, in the Major League semi-final on Tuesday, Meadhaven defeated Rae Town, 5-4 on penalties, after playing to 1-1 draw at the end of regulation and extra-time, to book their place in the final against Police Nationals.
