Brazil vs. Japan: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview

Brazil will be looking to keep their post-World Cup winning streak going when they face Japan in a friendly in Singapore on Tuesday.

The Selecao have yet to concede a goal since their miserable home-soil World Cup exit in the summer, beating Colombia and Ecuador, with their most recent win coming against Argentina on Saturday.

The Japanese also go into the encounter at the National Stadium on the back of a win—1-0 over Jamaica on Friday—but will be without star man Shinji Kagawa.

Diego Tardelli scored both goals as Brazil beat Argentina 2-0 in Beijing on Saturday in a performance which will have pleased new manager Dunga.

They were the Atletico Mineiro striker's first goals for his country and hinted that he may be a better option in attack for Brazil than World Cup under-performers Jo and Fred.

As tactics expert Michael Cox stated, it was a good performance from Brazil against a strong Argentine side—Lionel Messi missed a penalty—with strong play on the counter-attack:

Dunga—who replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari as coach after the World Cup—has started his reign in fine fashion, winning every game, and his side passed the Argentina test with aplomb.

If Brazil produce a similar performance in Singapore against Japan—a team who picked up just one group-stage point at the World Cup—they should quite easily make it four wins from four since the summer.

Tardelli will be hoping to find the back of the net again while Neymar—who underwhelmed somewhat in China—will no doubt be looking to make a big impression after a strong start to the La Liga season with Barcelona.

Kagawa's absence from the Japan team for Tuesday's encounter is a big problem for boss Javier Aguirre as the Mexican would have wanted his strongest squad possible considering the quality of opposition.

However, the Borussia Dortmund midfielder took a blow to the chin against Jamaica and, although he continued for the majority of the match, he has now left the squad after suffering mild concussion, per the Bundesliga website.

Aguirre claims he is relaxed ahead of the encounter and believes his side's 1-0 win over Jamaica should have been more convincing, per Kyodo News (h/t Soccerway):

Singapore is the venue that is being decided as the venue to the South American heavyweights Brazil and Japanese heavyweights Japan as both sides face off in what will be a intense battle for these two giants of their respective continents, keen on restoring their glorious past. The only hassle here is that both teams have already expressed their concerns over the artificial turf, which has come in for much criticism after the surface has more sand than grass.

like Brazil, Japan are also revamping their image and new manager Javier Aguirre got his first win for the Blue Samurai against Jamaica in Niigata on Friday, thanks to an own goal. Their main men, Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa looked in fine touch during the game and are expected to trouble the erratic Brazilian defence, who are still trying to recover from the aftershocks of the humiliating 1-7 loss at the hands of Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Brazilian coach Dunga is desperate to get his team on the winning track and has emphasized the importance of having the having progress in every single game that his team play.

Javier Aguirre managed his first win as Japan coach against Jamaica last Friday and now he's setting his sights on a victory over the might of Brazil on Tuesday.

The Samurai Blue's new coach managed to shade a 1-0 win over Jamaica but now must face Dunga's resurgent Selecao outfit full of confidence following their 2-0 defeat of World Cup runners-up Argentina in Beijing.

Japan were grateful for a Nyron Nosworthy own goal when edging out the Reggae Boyz but also created a number of other chances, with Keisuke Honda hitting the crossbar and Shinji Kagawa in fine form following his switch back to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United.

"We created five or six more chances to score, which was pleasing," commented Aguirre.

"We won't get as many opportunities against Brazil as we did there, though, so we will have to be more clinical when chances come our way."

The Samurai Blue were beaten 2-0 by Uruguay and drew 2-2 with Venezuela last month in their first matches under former Mexico boss Aguirre, but the 55-year-old, who has also had spells in charge of Atletico Madrid, Osasuna, Real Zaragoza and Espanyol, is confident of bringing success to his new employers.

"There’s strong financial backing, the domestic league is solid and there’s a good number of players at European clubs," added Aguirre, who claims he wants to bring a little more toughness and street-wise nous to the Japanese culture.

"They see me as a gutsy, battle-hardened coach, which I’m pleased about. And we will fight our corner, while trying to play nice football at the same time. We want to build a team that can compete, wherever we’re playing."

Japan have lost eight of their 10 encounters with Brazil, including two games in 2012 and 2013 by an aggregate score of 7-0, but they did manage draws in 2001 and 2005 to give hope of a surprise result in Singapore this week.

Brazil continued their recovery from World Cup humiliation by overcoming Argentina 2-0 in China on Sunday, making it three consecutive victories for Dunga's side since the 7-1 loss to Germany.

Brazil showed they have fully recovered from their World Cup debacle when defeating Argentina 2-0 in Beijing on Saturday and will now look to brush aside Japan in Singapore, with Tuesday's match having a kick-off time of 11.45 BST.

Selecao supporters will be delighted with their side's response to the return of Dunga as manager and can watch the latest chapter in their resurgence via live streaming online.

Having already edged out Colombia and Ecuador 1-0 since being crushed 7-1 by Germany and 3-0 by Holland in their last two World Cup fixtures, Diego Tardelli bagged a brace as Brazil accounted for a star-studded Argentina team in China.

The Atletico Mineiro striker capitalised on a defensive slip to open the scoring and headed in a second to secure victory, while goalkeeper Jefferson saved a penalty from Lionel Messi in a superb success for the Samba Stars.
