Kelsey/Shelby video interview (3:18)   (they were happy!)
They're out of the gate flying!
They were among the youngest at the meet, but these Babes were the stars under the stars.
Congrats to Kelsey for winning, to Shelby and Kira for shining as bright as the lights in their first
ever HS XC meet.   Congrats to Woodcreek for winning and to STHS for a very close second.
Great things lie ahead for these two teams and coaches Wilvers and McKillop ... take that to the bank.

"Better than the Weather" -
Heat, humidity, soft footing, numerous turns, and large fields made this a difficult day.

The First Aid tent after the seeded race was standing, er, sitting room only.  But the HS kids in the 14 HS races at the 35th Stanford
Invitational were better than the weather, time after time overcoming aches, pains, and fatigue to help their team.
Great job to everyone for laying it on the line...a very brave display.

Time was 17:05 according to Bob Shor... that's official by us.
Yeah 7th, but this league has ungodly tradition: Julia Stamps (Stanford, one of the greatest HS XC runners ever), Trina Cox (Cal-Berkeley, state champ), Sarah Sumpter (UCD, state champ), Amber Trotter (state champ, 2nd fastest state meet time ever -17:01), the incomparable Sara Bei (Stanford, 8-time state champ, now Sara Hall).... and Jacque now joins that list.  Great job to Jacque and Coach Triola!!
